I have a big batch of oil that has been in a light and air tight container for probably 6 months now. It still has trim at the bottom of the oil. Is this stuff ok to use??? please help!!!

Is there any mold or anything other than its age that would make you think its gone bad? I've smoked oil that was much older. maybe four years old. I thought it was fine, more than fine actually, I thought it was every bit as good as it was four years earlier.

It should still be ok. Maybe a bit weakened if you left it exposed to room temps tho. But 6 months shouldn't have caused much degradation. Next time, put it in a dark container and put it in the freezer. This will keep it in top shape for a very long time. I'm also wondering why there is any trim at all in your oil.

I recently came across a bottle of my alcohol tincture which had been stored at room temp in a dark glass bottle for a year, & it still worked very well. I can't see why oil/butter would be an inferior medium, as long as it doesn't go rancid.
