I'm trying to get my veg times down to 1 month. I usually have to veg for six weeks. I start in small 24 ounce container usually for 2 weeks {usually starting 4th node about 4"}, then into 1 gal pots for another 2 weeks then{ by this time they are any where from 6-9" inches tall) then into final 2 1/2gl pots for 2 more weeks and flower in same pots. ( at about 10-12")

this is after 1 week. I hit the 2 wk mark this coming thursday

I have also heard growers stating that its important to catch that first growth spurt. when does that actually occur and how do I catch it

What are you growing under? I have the same schedule as you, but I grow the seedlings under a flouro for the first couple of weeks. If the seedlings were grown under the sun or a 1000w, they will grow a lot faster. Of course, this increases the chance that they will die so take really good care of them.

at least a month. i have been veggin some sweet tooth and blockhead under 3 23w cfl's. in 2 months they are only about 4" tall. they have been stressed a couple of times and the growth had been slowed due to temps and feeding too late.

are you're plants even getting enough time in those pots to grow effectively, im all for transplants but you seem to be rushing the plant. how big of a plant are you looking for within a month? how bushy? there is a lot of variables that come into play, the seeds health and variation, genetics, light, nutrients and soil condition. all of those plants as you might be able to tell will be different sizes in a month.

Hi

I usually veg for 4 weeks, startin the moment they show the 1st set of leaves. Then switch. This gives me 4oz per plant on top44 and about 3ft tall

Last month the day before i was due to switch them i was hospitalsed for 3 weeks. Not a problem i thought, ill get the mrs to switch the lights and water them and ill put my feet up in hospital. ( i have a tumor and from time to time black out and wake up in hospital )

Unfortunately she watered them for the 3 weeks i was in hospital, however she f***ed the lights up and left them on 24hrs by changing the timer dial but forgetting to flick it into timer mode.

Well i am now faced with top44 thats been vegged for 7weeks and they are approaching 5ft now after 2 weeks flower. I think they will reach 6ft and in all honesty, i dont think ill yield much more. My ceilng is only 7ft so they are now growing past the lights ( 3 * 600s and 1 * 400 )

Find a time that suits and stick to it dude, more isnt always best as ive found out
