How long do you flush when using organic ferts in soil?

Hi,

My first grow using BioBizz organic ferts (BioGrow, BioBloom and TopMax) in soil is near harvest. Plants have been 44 days on 12/12 light cycle and are looking really good.

I was wondering about the final flush. Normally I flush for 5-10 days when using chemical ferts. The BioBizz grow schedule just says harvest after 8 weeks flowering. There is no flushing period in the chart. How long do you need to flush with organic ferts?

I flushed for 10-14 when using Chem.Ferts. (I don't anymore) and 7-10 days now using only Bat Dung and seaweed extracts to fertilize. Does the company BioBizz have parameters listed for Cannabis? If you have no chemicals to flush out the period is pretty much up to you. Is BioBizz completely organic or marketed as Organically Derived?

i think the word organic might explain ... from my way of thinking if its completely organic you wont need to flush it , the flushing would be to get rid of chemicals wouldnt it ?? organic shouldnt have any chemicals ... id be inclined to not feed anymore ferts during the last week and only water .... there may be other different schools of thought from other members , lets see ...

How did this get past us? Biobizz can't give you a schedule only a suggestion of one. Harvest a long flowering sativa at 8 weeks and you will be disappointed with the outcome. How do they know whats in your garden? This is why you test new things and develop a schedule according to the plants and previous results NOT what the company who wants to sell you something says.

The grow schedule doesn't say what plant or strain it is for, but I think it is for indica plants in SOG setup or something since the growing phase is only 2 weeks and flowering phase is 8 weeks.

Anyway I feed my plants bigger doses than what the schedule says. I was only wondering about the flushing since it wasn't on the schedule. I will give my plants only water during the last week.

I have tried many differnent ways of flushing my organic pots. it make not much differencr in the end. what make good different is to judge to harvest plant when pot soil all dry and in one or 2 hours of daybreak. mroe resin this way and dry is quick to. but one good freshwater flush one week, or how long it take to dry out completly before harvest day, no hurt. maybe good to.

I use bio bizz, im not an expert but what ive picked up along the way is that when i flush at 10 days to go i can see that the water coming out is a tea colour that gets weaker as more water goes through. There's nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus in the water so rinsing it away from the soil and making it unavailable to the plant must result in a smoother and finer taste to the finished product. These aren't facts but if there is NPK is in the soil....the plant's gonna use it. Im also going to try Guanokalong and bio bizz so i'll let you know how it goes....it was only £6 a kilo.

I'd have to agree with wally ...i only use Guano-Kalong for flowering and with that product i find i want that taste in my weed so i follow up the guano tea regimen from week 3-7 of 12/12 and from then on i add a light guano tea mix....which i feel keeps the plant in check until the last week when i let the soil dry out and flush it with clear water and wait til it is dried out before i give them the chop...

We only use organics here, but still find there to be a very substantial difference in the quality of herb that has been given enough time to eat up the remaining nutrient in the soil. If there's not enough time, the herb simply won't come out as delicious, and won't burn as well.

We've had some oraganic harvest burn and taste terrible when compared to the same clones harvested after a long nute-free period.

Our most recent harvest was the best bud we've ever tasted, from another grower or not, and it was given almost 4 weeks of fresh water.

We look for 2 things before harvesting: 1. Leaves that begin to yellow due to lack of nitrigen. 2. A great lessening in the overall pungency of the smell from the bud. When you tune into these 2 signs, you'll harvest buds worthy of any smoker

Guano-kalong provides a rich earthy taste to your crop and keeps the taste lingering on your tongue for like 15 min after smoking it.....even the mango farmers in costa rica are using it....and think about the taste of a good mago ...probably was given this guano...

That mango reference was taken from Soma's "Turn Guano into Gold" article in HT. He said the reason he likes Guano Kalong so much was the taste infused and the fact that it is the only Dung that doesn't stink. I just adopted a huge stack of HT's from before the format change. Here's the quote " There are many mango farmers out there using guano fertilizers on their crops. If you want the fruit of your labors to taste like mangos, try growing with guano." I've been growing with exclusively guano and seaweed based amendments for a few years (5-6) and not everything tastes like mangos. It is definitely sweeter than Chem ferts or Organically "based". Chems are impossible to completely flush out IMHO but I worked them Pre-Clearex and similar products. They still give me a sore throat and have that metalish taint to them.

I couldn't have put it any better than CC did. You need to make nutes unavailable to the plant for a smooth fine taste. I learned the hard way but you pick up as you go along.

What about starting with the biobizz and a little guano in the soil then around the fourth week of flowering, cut back on the biobizz and start with the guano. Any thoughts welcome. Cheers

I flush with 24ppm r/o water a minimum 7-10 days from harvest. I use Pure Blend Pro in hydro.

Although it is organic you can get a buildup of nutes and the taste suffers, I really like to flush 10-14 days more.

Hey Morganic..

I wouldn't recommend using anything in conjunction with guano kalong...put some of it in your soil...use biobizz if u need to in veg...maybe even early flowering 1 or 2 weeks (to assure you) and then hop over to the guano and flush for as long as u feel necessary..

you got that right....but after having used the product on all of my grows for the last year i can assure you that it does the trick....

I would hate to be on customs address list for ordering Quano from europe - can't afford to be under the looking glass.
