How long can plants survive?

Ok so I'm pretty well fucked, I'm having an apt inspection next week, the LL came by yesterday to do a "pre inspection" and he said he could smell the plants. So that by itself is bad enough but he is cool so he wasn't tripping over that. Also I live in a MMJ state so I just BS him and said I had my rec, even though I don't. But next week the inspector is coming and I can't leave them in my apt if they are smelling like that. So here is my real problem. I'm leaving for a four day vacation starting on Wed and the inspection is on Thursday morning. I can't cancel the trip and I don't want to kill the plants outright so I was thinking about leaving them in my car for the duration of my trip. I would be watering them fully and then putting them in black garbage bags and leaving them in the trunk area. I know this sounds crazy as hell but does anyone think they can survive four days in black bags with no light? I really don't want to have to start from scratch when I get back, they are going into week 3 of flower and are some new strains I haven't tried so I really want to grow them to completion if possible. I'm looking for any advice or experience with leaving plants in garbage bags for an extended amount of time that you all can give me. I mean the worst case is I do it and I come back and they're all dead but if anyone has any other ideas on something else I could try and haven't thought about I would really appreciate hearing it. why not just drive them to a wooded area and hide them for a few days.

I think they would be a lot happier then they would be in a trunk with no light, or air cooking in the hot summer sun.

Yeah I was thinking about doing that. The trick with that is finding a secluded enough area that they could stay for 4 days and not get stolen. Also they are just getting the stretch going from 12/12 so I thought putting them outside would mess that up or something?

The days are getting shorter so they shouldn't try to re-veg outdoors. You could lay then down for 4 days for more stealth. Take several cuttings of each and store them in the fridge just in case. Beware of bugs when bringing them back. Let us know how it goes. Good luck. -granger

Yeah I was going to do the cutting thing just as a back up. I was also thinking maybe I should just go get a med card but I'm not sure if I go to the doc this week if I will be covered as early as next week? I will have to look into my states regulations on that one but I think that would also be a viable option. I"m not really sick though and I kind of hate to game the system which is why I haven't got one so far but I might have to do that if all else fails.

Reasons why i don't want a card

1. Don't want to be on any governmental lists for that

2. I feel like it's cheating the system

3. I'm somewhat cheap, and it costs $$$ to get a card

That's about it honestly

I know #3 is not a very good reason, but the other two are for me.

i would say you have a 100% chance of killing everything if yo go with the black plastic bags in the trunk idea.

put them in cardboard boxes or something that will "breath" if you have to, but plastic bags for 4 days won't work. your car is going to turn into a wet sauna anyway, and it is gonna reek.

i would be looking for a plan b ........ got anyone you trust with a fenced back yard?

Yeah you're right about the reeking our the car part, hadn't thought about that aspect. Cars are not airtight so the smell would get out for sure.

I do know someone with a fenced in yard but she is 100% against the herb so if I did that route I would have to hide them somewhere in her yard and not tell her about it. That's not really cool to do though so I should probably just nix that idea. Get a legitimate card or put them in the woods someplace secluded sounds like the best options so far, but I don't really want to do either one honestly lol

i would make a phone call ...... maybe her instinct to have a friends back will override her dislike of the herb

If you have a jacket closet that does not have any breaker panels or something the inspector would need to see you can put a lock on it go on your 4 day trip. If you get a call about it tell him your out of town and will need to inspect that when your return. If he never calls you it's all good.

When I rented a apt there was a storage closet on the deck. They never looked in there on any inspection..That had a lock on it I had the only key..

I'm growing in the only closet in my apt that's not being used as a matter of fact. I have a lock on the door so it can't be opened without a key and it's in an out of the way corner so it's usually pretty stealth but you know how it is when they do inspections, they want to see the entire place, look in all the nooks and crannies. I wish I had a deck I would put them out there for sure, but no go on that one. If I try and reschedule the inspection they're going to charge my LL a rescheduling fee equal to the cost of the missed inspection which is like $75 or something so I doubt he's going to go for that. Especially when they have to inspect two other apts the same day over there so I can't see him wanting to split it up just for me.

So I have a good plan now, gonna just take them over to my boy's house and stick em in a closet while I'm away. He knew I grew already but I never actually showed him anything but I had to do it yesterday. He's a good guy though and I told him I would hook him up at harvest for helping me out and he was agreeable to it. So thankfully the situation is not as bad as it was looking a few days ago. Also I'm going to break down and get a MMJ when I get back since the people that know I grow has gone from 1 to 3 in the past two days and my security is basically shot now. No need to be illegal with it if I don't have to.

ya know i thought the same but then said if i get pinched {poped/busted}. an dont have my Dr's rec and be registered with my state i'll have more bs to deal with. but if i'm registered as long as i'm not dealing with the feds, medical necessity is my defense. i mean honestly in my stae the numbers i have would get me 1yr probation thats w/out a Dr's rec and being registered with the state.
do it you'll have more peace of mind and duder get a carbon air scrubber and elemenate the smell problem

I actually have a scrubber I turned it off so he wouldnt hear it but doing that let the smell out. It was a damned if you do damned if you dont situation I guess. They did the inspection on thurs but i had the girls moved out by then so it shouldnt be any more intrusions for a while. As soon as i get back in town from my trip getting a rec is first priority.
