i've popped them as early as 60 days after harvest, imo could go sooner even.

scarification (freezing) has no effect on cannabis seeds, and, on the seeds that it does work on, it has to be performed when the seeds are damp anyway not dry - i.e. after sowing.

you can pop the seeds as soon as you like, but the germination rate will improve as the seeds dry out and the casing properly hardens over a few weeks/months.

the best germination rates occur when the seeds are between 1 and 2 years old.

I had seeds germinate in the medium as they dropped from the plant.

The fridge my be a better alternative, but if they are viable they will
pop right away.

Ive germed seeds and started plants from seeds taken from a plant that was yet to be harvested. The seedlings were 3 weeks old before the parent plant was harvested.

45 dats after pollenation occurrs seeds should be ripe and can be planted, regaurdless of the status of the parent plant,

Never even thought about this, will consult a few of the books I have, some older texts, some newer. See if they have any answer. This kind of effects my plans for the next year or two, timing wise, if this holds validity. I guess I never really thought about "curing" the seeds to speak.

Just had the same question, so did a simple search on icmag and found this thread. Thank you very much for all of wonderful information.

I know its an old thread, but newbies like me really appreciate having access to this kind of stuff.

Cheers

during prolonged wet weather I have often seen seeds germinating in the head while the head continued flowering.

I have also grown plants thru winter to flower and provide seed in October and then used those seeds that same month to plant a summer crop.

Cheers!
