Dear Haters, I Have So Much More For You To Be Mad

I imported 100 live oysters from China. Had to pay to get certificates, import fees, package got stuck in customs. Each oyster contains a single 7-8mm pearl inside!!
Yesterday, I had one of my friends bury all 100 along the shoreline, at a specific place along the Bay...
Later this afternoon, we are going to go for a walk along the shoreline. I will happen to find one, and then keep digging, pretending like we found all these pearl contained oysters...
Winner?

we used to dig for clams in seattle an once you see em if you dont dig real real fast they r gone.

Dude there is no way you're gonna find all those oysters that someone else buried, scattered randomly under the sand. Maybe you'll get a couple at most. Otherwise i gotta admit it's a pretty clever idea.

Haha, they won't be there, unless you look at the tides and follow them. I spent several months in Northern Cali a few years back. I liked to go agate hunting there. I'd get up at 4AM and drive out and go hunting. Return to do my duties for the day and went right back to the same spot at 6PM. EVERYTHING CHANGES AND MOVES AROUND with sand and water. With those little devils moving around with a pearl in each, someone will find them.

You two will have a ball hunting for them, if it is warm enough. it is really hard to find stuff buried in the sand without a metal detector. Next time, glue some foil to their shells and rent a metal detector and hunt them that way. Or use turtles? lol

I'll be excited to hear if you have more fun hunting than for the results, though!

Cool idea though! Your mate must be very special...Kudos for you! jpt

the other thing to consider is once his friend was done & gone several locals would likely look into what that dude was burying in the sand. I'm wondering what the actual recovery rate will be.......

Sure hope we get a report on it, too! Really sounds like the most fun will be in the 'hunt,' as opposed to, the recovery results. :dance013: jpt
