How I Have Been Buffering Root Zone Nutrient Content with Water

I’ve been meaning to take the time to do this and this last one was a back breaker I almost left it alone in the middle of it.

One should check pH through this process.

Im leaving out what nutrients I use. I started with a blend of fertilized peat and coco soils with added peat and perlite which come out to 2 parts potting soil, 1 part bare peat moss soil and 1 part perlite.

I Am Targeting 500ppm

I last buffered this 40L/10gal pot down to around 800ppm 2 days ago. I started today with 2 gallons of around 350ppm to flood.

This came out and I buffered it down with water.
Flooded again.

Still high, I got agressive based on a suggestion I just learned from @Tynehead Tom

Getting better now, next post.

I made a fresh batch of solution that came to 437ppm. It came out pretty good

So I poured that back through and I am done.

After everything has run off. We now know, this is what the roots are in.

So I got a little lazy this weekend. Buffering outdoor potted plants last week for PH and nutrient content got the best of me.

I mixed up some solution that came out to about 1500 because I was getting about 950 out middle of the week last week last. Then left it alone to eat and drink for 4 days.

Edned up with a higher than I desire TDS level on this last watering. I’m going to water daily through the weekend to get this back to a more acceptable level. The PH has at least gotten much better now, up from below 5.5.

Three gallons of 1200ppm solution, like the two that are photograpbed, into a 10 gallon pot. I turned the dimmer to 100-% when I saw the high ppm run off In the last two.

Today I did not meter the input solution because the meter was acting up after using it for a few minutes with a near dead battery.

gallon of water likely to have been in the 300s and ph7 or more

the run of is a reflection of the last ounces runoff from yesterday and one gallon pushed through the 10 gallon pot with the 300/7 solution.

pH6.71... It’s a little early to be trying to smooth out the smoke. this leaves room for more bloom
