How hot is too hot?

Help it is too hot inside!!

FYI -The cab is 42" tall x 31" wide x 20" deep and has 2 115CFM intake fans (6 inch round intake) and 1 140CFM exhaust fan (3 inch round exhaust). The cooltube has a seperate 115CFM fan and is running at 400 watts. The room is 5 x 4 x 8 feet, more like a small closet.

Here is some tempreture data so far (House A/C flux between 76-79 degrees):

format = room temp with cabinet off, room temp with cabinet on, interior cabinet temp (running for 2+ hours)

Trial #1 (Cabinet in closed walk in closet) 78.0, 89.4, 98.9
Way too hot, obvious that I need to change something.

Trial #2 (Cabinet in walk in closet with closet door open) 75.9, 84.0, 93.5
Something is still wrong although I did get a 5 degree drop in temp.

Trial #3 (Cabinet in walk in closet with closet door open, reversed airflow across cooltube) 78.2, 87.2, 88.3
Interesting, the room temp increased with this modification but the interior temp did drop another 5 degrees.

Trial #4 (Cabinet moved to larger room) 76.6, 80.4, 86.7
Is this workable?

Can I expect a temp drop or rise once I add plants and water?

that is a great idea to use frozen 2 liter bottles. wouldn't that raise humidity though because of the perspiration on the outside of the bottles?

The condensation is moisture comming out of the air, so it's drying the air out until the 2l warm up and the water starts to evaporat back into the air.
Sounds like you need more air flow!!!!

It also sounds like your heating your closet with the hot exhaust from your cab. Try ducting an air intake from outside the closet to your cab.
Good luck

Or duct your exhaust outside, or both. The more air moved through the cab the closer the temp will be to the rom temp.
Sorry for all the posts I'm feeling a little a.d.d. this afternoon

oops soz didnt answer question ...keep the grow between 70 and 90 degrees

if the room spikes to 90/93 increase the air out having the out air sucked from the highest point of the room and the intake at the lowest point of the room .... and like i sed before an air cooled light always helps

ok super dumbass ... cooltube lol soz ,,, but did i under stand you got a 6" intake with a 3" out take?wtf is that about the outtake should either be the same or larger than the intake ... bigger out take fan!!!!!

I actually have 2 six inch intakes and only 1 three inch outtake. I thought there was supposed to be more intake holes. Doh!!

Also, I do have an aircooled light. I have since moved the cabinet into a larger room and the inside temps have dropped to 83.

Larger outtake hole for sure. Think of a funnel. If you try to put more in than is exiting it backs up and in the case of the funnel overflows.

Yes, definitely more air out!!

You can. I always notice that an empty grow chamber or one that was just planted with tiny clones is always hotter. Once my plants get a decent size I will get up to a 10 degree drop in temps with the same outside temperature.
