just wondering if i should back off nutes (GH FloraNova) or go with plain water for a while, and if so for how long? just transplanting (black gold/coir previous) before going to flower... :)

It has enough nutes for 2 weeks. I don't use nutes in veg, just fresh ocean forest and transplant every 2 weeks. I like to transplant just before flower and start flower nutes in the 2nd week of flowering.

Not very in my opinion,I use half strength grow big after a few weeks veg.I wouldnt think of never feeding them during veg.Ocean Forest has no NPK rating, its not preferted soil.I find it best to use 5-1-1 fish emulsion until the plants get a little height, then I like grow big

I do the same thing... only during those first two two weeks of flower (I usually at day 30, I think it feeds that long), I give a mixture of pbp bloom and pbp grow to let it ween off of the N. With 70+ day flowering plants (like sativas) I mix it the first 3-3.5 weeks of flower. This way I avoid the whole yellowing of N deficaincy shit that used to happen to me ALL the time.

Aslo, transplanting does feed it more, but its getting the same food it got when it was half its size. Therefore it could eat more, and the more it eats (without frying it to shit) it will usually result in thicker buds, and more vigor.

IMHO It's not hot at all. I continue with my feeding program right after transplant.

My plants are serious nute hogs though.

I use the same nutes as you.

Be aware my blockhead clones when I plant them in soil I use regular water then when soil dries out,I use 1/2 strength grow big.I recently went on a pheno hunt growing many seedplants and when I tried this on some other strains,I burnt the fuck out of them.DP skywalker and blueberry, female seeds grapefruit and white widow,I think the only other one that took it well was female seeds ice.The others got burnt to shit and I've been growing for years, its not just a nube mistake lol!Always "test the water" first, maybe starting with 1/4 strength on some strains or waiting a few waterings before using a nitrogen fert.I've decided now to use 5-1-1 fish emulsion now on all mu cuts the first few times I feed before hitting them with the grow big.Just be careful is all I'm saying and if you do burn your plants,a couple good flushes and they will come right back

I agree with garliccitygro, its not too hot as i start seedlings and clones in the soil without ever getting burned. I love the stuff, price is right too as the price just droped to $10 for 10 bags at the hydro shop i frequent. Was very glad to hear that news, as it was recently jacked up to $15 for a while. :yoinks:

More in point to the op, I believe the black gold is hotter than the ocean forest. You should be able to feed it normally after transplanting, your idea of one half feeding then normally after that sounds like the best idea though.

Goodluck and bountifull harvests for you Scissors.
