How far from seeding? 42w cfl

I had a seed bust out of the soil 1 day ago and now its a monster, so I took the plug I germinated in and stuck it on a whole bunch of jiffy pellet soil (I realized I ran out of promix and all I had was Miracle Grow for my plants outside). I got 10 jiffy pellets, threw them in a glass of water, let them soak up the water, then I unpeeled them and put the pellet fillings in the pot, crushem them up loosely, set the plug and root in, then filled in the rest around the plug. I then put a thin layer of thoroughly wash hydroton ontop of the soil to maintain moisture levels in the soil.



So is the light far or close enough away?
It is 5" from the top of the plant to the bottom of the light.



ps... Does it look good? Does it look happy? Like it wants to make some buds? Anything I should do other than watering with PH adjusted water when the pot is light.

Hardly a monster...at least not yet. Id say a couple inches off the tops of ur seedling and ur good.

So should I put the distance between the light and plant at around 3"?

Since my grow room is currently in 12/12, and I don't have my attic area setup, I made an area Indian style! I propped up a ladder and used mylar arount it!

i veg with cfls i use 45w warm and 25w daylight in each fixture i hang them @ 90 degree angel to the plants tops at 3 inchs away. 1-4 inchs is a good rule of thumb to follow for cfl ussage.

just noticed your 12/12 now what from seed planted or now that thier in hydrotron balls. also are you top feed drain to waste with this setup i see a bucket but no hoses ???

better get a small fan to gently blow a breeze on the little tyke

what? just throw it in the room with the rest of the plants. 12/12 from seed wont kill a plant.

hey DrHashman that ladder idea of urs is pretty creative. good thinking. Yeah keep ur light a couple inches (1-4) from the tops of ur plants and your alright mate.

I say give it a bit of veg time to get more out of it, unless its just a fun run.

As stated 1.5-3 inches is good for a CFL grow, 3 should be good for a seedling I thinks as it will grow fast and you dont want it to get within like .5 inch of the light or it might burn!
