Howdy, maybe I can input some here.

I gotta wonder, what is this tea for? Generally speaking a tea is used to rejuvenate older soil or add certain ferts for bloom or veg at certain stages. So by your mix I would have to assume that your just trying to boost the overall soil fertility.

BTW, yes, steam distillation will remove chlorine. I highly suggest using oster shells because they are better then dolomite and is sustainable. If using oster shell you probably wont need any epsom salt because it will have plenty of Ca+ and Mg+; far warning, it does lower ph.

What form of kelp? Liquid? Are you trying to raise any micro herd, if so what kind and for what purpose? All things you should think about when making a tea.

If you don't want to add any microbes to your soil you be fine with just adding those in their dry form into the soil and getting similar, if not the same, results.

whoa whoa that tea looks killer. and i mean killer to your plants. bone and blood arent the best things to be mixing into tea and those are strong ratios at that. same with the epsom salts thats way too much, if the plants NEED that extra mg a slight foliar with the epsom is a better idea. pumpkin is right the bone and blood are best mixed into the soil. i would start to re work your tea.

but like pumpkin said what is this tea for? veg? flower?

Its for 4 flowering plants 2 weeks in its the sand kelp. I did not put any in the soil and the plants are yellowi9ng and wilting. So i think they need some nuts because they have never had any

hows this

1 TBS Kelp
1 TBS Blood meal
2 TBS Bone meal
.5 TSP of Epsom Salt
1 Gallon Water

Bone meal won't work in a tea.
It must be mixed into a grow medium and be allowed a couple of weeks to break down.
You're also throwing your money away on that distilled water. If you have tap water from a municipal water supply that has chlorine in it, simply pour it into a five gallon bucket and let it sit there open for 24 hours. The chlorine will evaporate.

and by using tap water that has been de-chlorinated like B1 says the soil will take care of the TDS in the water.

Can anyone link any effective tea recipes? I know 3LB used to have a thread or two dedicated back at OG. I would like to duplicate PBP Bloom Soil on the cheap, just to see what kind of results I can get.

So your using a mix with no nutrients.... man I hate to say this, but you should looking into hydro or "organic" hydro nutrients. I don't think your going to be able to create a tea that will be ph/nutrient stable enough to properly feed your plants. We use teas with soil, but the soil has nutrients and buffers along with cation exchange sites that will actually hold onto those positively charged ions. I dont think you have any clay or humus in your mix, so you have no cation exchange sites, all those nutrients are just going to leech right out the bottom and it will be pointless. All hydro nutrients are chelated (instantly available to the plant) and therefor you can water with that. I hate to advise hydro, but for your grow sake, you should.

Ok I will go to the store tommorow and see what kind of Liquid Nutes i can get.

today i saw liquid fish something that was organic it was
5-1-1 can i use that and how much should i add to a gallon of water. also how much Epsom salt 1 TSP? I think i need lots of nitrogen my plants are not getting enough.

High Grasshopper,
Master thinks you may need some help maybe
for a suggestion Grasshopper
u can ck out Master's own Teas all organic for a start,
many good organic peps here too !
with other versions of some weally good recipes.

Also a tip about the bone meal,
It must be ONLY steamed to put in teas,
and even with that method it will still be 5 min to 7 days for plants to start feeding on it , so for ease of it maybe ? ,
just plow into soil mix,
@ rates for flowering 1 & 1/2 Tablespoons
to 2 Tablespoons per gal for heavy feeds.
for lots of examples go to the Organic grows threads
good luck with ur grow
peace,
Master Thai ;-)

Xlnt results with all organic teas, Homemade or store purchased,
you'll be happy with the taste and high of - "all organics"
Treat urself right !

yea, yea , I fix this soon - too busy in garden :violin:

Comfrey and nettles make a mad tea if brewed up for a few weeks in a bin (it will stink like shit) 30/70 with water (the chlorine will evaporate after a couple of days so don't waste energy steam treating it) and then diluted and used. Nettles is good for growing, comfrey is high in potassium and calcium and perfect for flowering. Nettles has loads of silica in it too so it will help prevent insect attack too. In fact most weeds brewed up are good as they are generally hard, mean little plants that can survive anywhere because they can concentrate nutrients where other plants can't.

sounds like some kind of rainbow mtn juice feed

sounds like some kind of rainbow mtn juice feed

sounds good ,
there's alot of nitrogen in weeds too,
so I bet this will work well, thanks for the recipe sugg.

If you just bubble the water for a day before you make the tea you will get the chlorine out - I am not going to preach but it is a mad waste of energy to boil huge amounts of water to speed things up - seems to me growing organically should be as much about trying to reduce the amount of resources we use as much as growing fine weed. It will take a bit longer but that is organics for you. You want mad-quick results I reckon hydro is a better choice. That is my arse-head 2p worth though
