how do you make seeds from S1 plants?

to make seeds you must pollenate. you need either a male plant or you need to make your bubba hermie. if a female hermies she will pollenate herself.

Hi,

S1 are self-pollinated so you will get males only if:
-the plants are polyploids
-or show herma tendencies
To get males from S1, you should have to use STS or GA3...

S1 mean self pollinate first génération. It's the quick (and rather crude way) to make seeds from a clone only strain. If your plant already have herma tendancies, it's done by stressing it (light pollution etc...)...

doobieornot2be:
that probably mean that your bubba kush S1 have herma tendancies....

...I think I better stick to the growers threads for now, that's out of my league but thanks for the explanation Azra3l, I get the concept, but, simply lack the knowledge. Good luck guys!

no such thing as real males from S1

;)

if people select specifically for hermie traits, they should not be surprised...

I got males from my pack of OG Kush S1s. Four of them. No hermies. No bananas even in late flower. Flowered cuttings are stable too.
My understanding of S1 theory, is that seedlings should be either hermie or all female.
I'm not sure we will ever know what Orgnkid really did at Cali Kush to make OG Kush S1s. However, I've seen lots of posts reporting males in OG Kush S1s. Maybe they aren't really S1s or are not F1 S1s.
Regardles of how they were created, they are the outstanding. . .:joint:

I've got 3 males of the Bubba Kush from the S1 seeds. I need to germinate some more to find a female that I can pollinate and make some seeds.
I just don't know how to choose only 1 male to keep. Definitely not the one that started out as a runt. The other 2 look similar but one has fat broad leaves (a fast grower) and the other (slow grower and closer internodes) has a longer/slimmer leaf look to it.
I'll have to use both then... just have to wait for a female to show up first.
