How do you know when to start giving flowering ferts?

How do I know when I need to start giving my plants flowering/bloom fertilizer instead of vegetative fertilizer? Do I start immediately when they show preflowers?

what cycle is your light on? DUH...OUTSIDE!!

generally feed veg ferts during 18/6 or 24/0 (on/off time)...DUH...OUTSIDE

and flowwr ferts after you change the timer to 12 hours on, 12 hours off...DUH OUTSIDE!!!

you could start at 1/2 strength if you like.

how old are the plants?

what strain?

naturallly, as I posted in the "Cannabis Growing Outdoors" forum, I'm growing outdoors. :wink:

I started the plants in the middle of march - the biggest one out of the three is about 2 and a half feet maybe 3.

The strain is Purple Kush

hey with the pk, when preflowers show give them veg nutes for one more week, then switch to 3/4 strength flowering nutes.

what kind of nutrients are you using? the pk is a pretty heavy feeder, likes a big dose of N when it goes into flowering.

the pk outdoors, those are going to be some great nugs. need anymore help just pm me the pk is my bitch.

ps: for the best most tastey pk nugs, the more organic the better.

jaykush - I'm using a good bit of Osmocote and it seems to be keeping them quite happy, they're a nice dark green right now

Are they flowering at all yet? When they show preflowers, start using 1/2 bloom 1/2 veg....do that for 2-3 weeks, then switch to all flowering. You don't want dark green buds, the chlorophyll will be disgusting.

I usually wait until Sept 1 when the light is right and the plant starts to show bud. You still want to continue with vegging ferts also until about mid September......

whoa wait a minute....how late does your harvest go until jj? we both are 44N and my buds start showing mid july to early august and the latest i can go is around the first week of oct. before harvesting.

Liquid gets expensive when you got numbers. Lots a folks just get a bunch of bone meal or a p bat guano. Botanicare has 55 gal. drums of pureblend, though.
