It can be an isolated lifestyle, as security is so important. Although we are all doing the best we can on this planet, and people are basically good at heart - the economy is a real challenge for many. And this can cause bad behaviour in some, if challenged to lead a good life.
Of course, we have to have caution regarding our decisions with Others, and who we trust with our High-Value Plants.. No news to anyone who reads this.. haha.
Some of us Growers find it hard to get away for more than a couple days, especially if we do not have trustworthy family members/people to help, nearby.
Even so, in one instance, I left careful instructions, and a nice country house to a close relative for a month to take care of plants in early flower. No other tasks, except feed the cat, and relax. When I returned they had been grossly overwatered, and the foliage - where it still was - was yellowed - basically dead - start over.
He meant well, but should have contacted me, I could have fixed it at the first sign of yellowing, by saying "stop watering so much." "Give em some super thrive, and let em dry out."
What do YOU DO..? To blow off steam and do it safely..?
Even if I shut down the flowering for a month during the hottest month of summer, I still have a crazy veg room with 2-3 generations of plants to take care of in anticipation of cooler temps.
I DO need to automate. That is one step. Instead of hand water. I used to do hydro, but I like the hands on approach. And it mostly is used for flowering, unless tables and rockwool is the medium. Perhaps a drip system, in the containers... ? But I have had issues with uneven watering.
Thanks, Brethren - We all need a vacay..!!!! It is hard work, even though we love it. People think it is easy, but it ain't.
