how do you get rid of bugs without harsh pesticides?

I have a couple of bugs that think its ok to set up camp or something. I want to get rid of them, but I don't really want to use any pesticides. I tried some online recipes that contained peppers and garlic...ect.. but it did no good. any suggestions please. this is my first time growing, please don't be a jerk about it.

this guy lives under the leafs, he looks like a fly. in fact thats what I would call him.

this jerk hangs on to the main stem and always tried to hide. he looks just like the next bug.

okay, so this one looks like an adult version of the one above and behaves in the same manner also. It looks like a fly too.

thanks for looking. I have been putting fly tape around the pots, but nowhere near the plant itself. dose anyone have any good alternative pesticide suggestions? Thanks again for remembering that this is my first time and I am brave enough to suck a little to get better. please don't be a smart ass.

It's hard to tell what that is, but if you can get a better picture.

Give this site a try, they have bugs that will get rid of your bug's.
And I am not trying to funny.

Maybe you can check the site just to get an idea of when your dealing with and then see if the people at this place can help.

Benificial predators are only good if they actually eat the bugs you have, so you would be wise to find out what pest you have, then pick a control method.

Good luck with the ladybugs!

No Pest Strips, while they won't qualify for "all natural" or organic, do a heck of a job controling MOST problem critters. The main chemical has a 3 day half life in low humidity, less in higher humidity; so it is depleated in a short time.

NPS will ruin the ladybugs day, so hold off till they gey a try.

R U inside or Out? No matter. Get a small bottle of Neem oil (about $10). you mix a teaspoon with a few drops of soap & warm water in a 16oz. spray bottle to keep it mixed up (its a nutty oil) and spray on your plants every five days. Excellent; bugs hate it. very environmentally friendly. Most Hydro stores have it. or order online

Lady bugs/Japanese beetles will clean house for you too; they don't work so well outside, as they will take off and leave you like a teenager, lol

Buy yourself some Vapona No Pest Strips and hang them 9 feet apart. Your bug problem will be solved in a few days.

Perythrin works on nearly everything and is safe as long as it doesnt have man made stuff added to it (forget the name of the additive now).

I think that chemical might be Dichlorvos. If it is, that cant be absorbed by plants. since the chemical cant be absorbed by the plant is it safe to use?
