How do you distinguish

between good weed, and really really good weed? I don't smoke very much so it always seems like super dank to me, but when buying bud I always want the best shit I can get. But I have learned time and time again, that looks and smell can be deceiving. Especially when buying bulk, an elbow of really pretty, stanky bud that doesn't deliver is a pain in the ass. So I'm wondering what techniques you use...

Smell is the most reliable test in my experience...both strength of and the actual smell itself. We have all seen crystally herbs that smell like hay....I haven't really come across something with a strong, attractive, complex smell that wasn't equally tasty in effect.
Perhaps you must train yourself to smell for the right things?

I've seen people squeeze and roll a nug in their hands, then smell- that might help...

You smoke it. Everything else is just presentation - and that can be faked. The high can't be faked. Ask yourself if you would rather have weed that gets you high, or weed that looks good, smells good, or feels good, but doesn't get you high. The answer should be clear. By all means though, this is subjective, so your priorities might not be the same as mine.

If you're looking to buy bulk, dude, either get it from a tried and tested connect, or buy a smaller amount first. I don't know how it works where you're at, but if you're looking to make some money, don't do business on guesswork and speculation, no matter what kind of deal you're doing.

I use the technique of growing lol,no mysteries here.AK 47 = good weed.Blockhead = really good weed!Seriously I've heard more shit about beasters kiefing and such which I never had to deal with,I've never seen erb try and be faked.I normally could tell visually but smell and texture also helps.Maybe its not hard to fake sticky stanky these days I dunno

You're right mate smoking is not a "technique", its the quickest method of delivery.The ONLY way your going to find out how good it actually is, is to sample some.

9/10 of the time however smell is directly related to THC content; In saying that however I have come across awesome sativa that smells like hay but can send ya loopy, and had awesome, really potent smelling stuff that does nothing more than leaf.

Yep, smoking is the only way, and even at that I have found that some stuff that got me high last week won't get me high next week because I built a strong tolerance to it already.

The best way is to grow it yourself.........
