How do you add microherd?

Title sort of says it. How do you add microherd to your soil? Do people use a some sort of granular of bacteria/fungi and add it to their soil mix? I realize that if you re-use your soil they will already be present, but when creating a new soil mix, how do I get them in?

Thanks

I add a mychorrizae powder to the bottom of my pots every time I transplant. I also fill a 35 gal. tub with water for my plants and let it set for several days. The slick film that forms on top is microherd starting to form. The bacteria is in the air.

as best as I understand Basically it's in any healthy soil.

I once bought a bag of "Top Soil" and that provided me with microbes.

But be aware that the things called "Top Soil" are often soil mixes.

True top soil is nothing more than the upper layer of healthy soil from someplace.

fresh Animal manure like horse or cow will have them as well.

I'll have to let others tell you about what products are available and I understand that there is some great reading in the sticky threads.

But really it's simple so don't worry..

Earthworm Castings and compost.

If you make a tea out of either of the two, it will greatly increase the microherd.

look up compost tea. it works great and you can use it as a foliar spray to prevent disease and mold.

its basically worm castings, water and molasses with a air stone. let it bubble for 24-48 hours and your good.
