my hand or automated?

since using soil i hand water each plant. using a 2.5 gal pail and 2 gal water with custom mix of seaweed, organic b vitamins or enzymes, teas, etc...

ive seen people using pumps and irrigation?
how do you mix the nutes and ensure proper amount? without overflow etc..

Personally, I hand water myself. Though right now I'm using plastic cups, a couple buckets and some old bottles (1gal gatorade, 1/2 gal milk, etc) to brew up some teas in.

I tend to alternate my waterings slightly, going by feel more than anything. Most of the time I water from the top down, but at times I water from the bottom.

I don't really folair feed, though I do use a spray bottle to wet the top inch or two of soil before watering, it seems to help things along.

In the future I'm planning on trying out an autowatering system, though my intention is to have the water dispensed automatically be essentially just water. Nutes would be administered in hand waterings as needed. (Since I'm mostly just working with bagseed, no continuity between plants and their needs)

you could essentially just use your compost/guano as a top dressing instead of making teas and that would make watering alot easier ( ijust dont know if the seaweed and other stuff you use is in liquid form or not) but if you use top dressing than you could just hook your girls up to a simple drip line from a water pump using only water. any garden center can help you figure out how to put a drip system together.

i like to let the soil dry out, so the roots really strech for the liquid. then give-em a good soaking.

i just ripped out my hydro BS because i didnt like leaking plumbing and excessive work for essentialy nothing. i was thinking about putting a 5 gal bucket in the corner ontop of buckets so i can just dump in 5 gals and itll feed them all from gravity.

soil growing is sooo much easier then hydro. IMO i hated dealing with res chemistry ph etc. come home and have to fill the res. yeash.

personally i think it depends on the size of your grow and how much time you want to spend with your girls. myself i hand water. I mix my nutes in a 13 gl plastic trash can the day before and bubble it for 24 hrs. then i give each plant 1 qt. a day, some strains a little more or a little less.I have 16 in flower and 20 to 25 in veg. takes about 10 minutes. you can do the same thing with a sub pump and drip emitters and timers, especialy in larger grows. I just like spending the time with my plants.

I use a pump sprayer (clean!) using a gentle spray until about week 3. I then use a watering can after I put clay balls around the plant to keep the water from dislodging the soil.

Hand water. But I only have 6 plants. It gives me sometime to really look them over good. Tell them I love them. What pretty ladies they are. Then I blow some smoke in their little faces and tell them that's what they got to look forward to. It scares the bejesus of them and they start throwing resin everywhere to scare me off.

dude you shouldnt let the soil dry out completely. doesnt that make the little tiny root hairs die or something?

have all of your plants sitting in a large tray and use an auto pot system ot works great all you need to do is fill up the resivear and the plants water them sef, just every now and again hand water with nutes

me blunt is like, wicked yo!! owight
i started out with plastic cups and poured until i saw the runoff, then counted how many cups i use. now i use one of those double big gulp cups from 7-11. of the top of my ehad, i think its about 64 ounces.

the idea to setup a gallon per hour dripper system and set the pumps timer for a half hour , with a 7 day timer ofcourse, has crossed my mind.
