how do u determin how big of a dehumidifier u need?

You know I just don't know.. But as a Google-aholic I went right into a binge.

This site deals with pools so I would try and come up with a relative area for any reasonable evaporation surface.. Yep Guess-TA-mate using the best guess method. Then I would look at their ventilation data and Yep Guess-TA-mate using the best guess method.

How to roll that into an exact form of advice .. I have to look more ...

Hey I'm reading this now

This is an ad for their machine but covers the questions.

Hey post what you decide.. I don't need one because I have adequate air flow and reasonable ambient humidity and grow in soil but I may try hydro some day just to learn.

Best of luck

You can get something for $150-200 at Home Depot; a 30<45-pint (daily). Try to get one with a direct drain hook-up so that you can attach a hose and discharge down a drain; it saves you the effort of constantly emptying, as well as the machine turning off when full.

This was a tough question for me also. But I searched for it and got a table that helped me finding the right size dehumidifier. For your help I am inserting the image link here. You can check it too.

This was a big concern for me in a legal grow 4 4x4 tables. I decided to buy a quest dual 155 commercial dehumidifier. If your growing in a sealed room or a big grow i Suggest a commercial sized one. But remember to follow the VPD chart.

If you're in a sealed room then your humidity load is equal to the amount of water your plants are getting every day; a portion of the water will evaporate from the soil and the other portion will be taken up by the plant and transpire out its leaves. Only a small fraction actually ends up locked in plant material.
