how do i revive burned leaves?

i've searched the threads but couldnt come up with much useful info.

i've switched my girls to a DWC system and in doing so i placed them too close to the light source, a 400w mh. the light was maybe 9 inches away and for the 30 mins or so they were chillen, some top leaves were burned. i have since then suspended the light about 20 inches away and it seems fine.

the girls are in hydroton, 1/4 strength of the nutes as prescribed by freezerboy, and nice breezy fans supplying fresh air.

stealth has been compromised, but whatever. We'll handle that as soon as we can, when money isnt an issue.

is there any way to fix the burn spots onthe girls or will they have to remain that way as a reminder of my stupidity?

yup. chop 'em so that the undamaged leaves can get light.

if they are still in veg they could be candidates for topping... looks like it is just the fan leaves and not the new growth that got burnt so if you leave it it'll be fine as well... just cut off the ugly stuff as stated above

The parts of the leaves that aren't burnt are still functioning.

I would leave them on and let the plant shed them if she wants...or

top those plants like opt1c says.

There will be many mishaps and leaves will come and go.....you will learn that it just happens and then life goes on...

thanks for the answers guys! some leaves looked like they need to be chopped off while im going to alllow some of th eother leaves to fall off on their own.

as soon as you up the nutes to full strengh which i hope you do soon you will have massive growth anyways and the current amount of leaves will be a mere handfull compared to whats comming

From the looks of it, you should probably flower them in a 2 weeks time tops.. otherwise you will have MONSTERS that will overrun that garage or whatever yours growing in..

Why dont you get some white platic foil from the hydro shop. You could hang that from the ceiling making yourself a little cab for the girls with heat escaping the top on its own! Its pretty cheap to get and thelight reflecting effect is great. Make sure the inside is WHITE tho.

hows it growing? did you get all them leaves back?

This happened to my Mazar recently. I cut off leaves which were more than 50% damaged and those that were burnt at the tips, I cut the bad stuff off and left the green portions. She recovered very well and the leaves I cut half off are still going strong. I believe leaving the damaged portions takes away from the plants growth as it spends energy trying to repair the damaged portions.
