i get good 6 to 8 inch tops consistantly of tasty smoke the quality is not the issue i want a bigger yield i know i have the space i want monster buds like the ones i see you guys havin thanx to all

let them get about 2 or 3 feet and cut all the lower branches and leave the top one when u trim, this will allow food nutes to go to the top thus giving bigger colas, oh yeah the bigger light too the bigger denser bud

If you are not pulling between 1-2 lbs per 1000 watt light, then something is going wrong.
As previously stated, maybe try a different strain. I usually pull 1.5 lbs of Sour Bubble per light, and it is not a huge yielding strain. You should be able to flower at least 20 - 30 indica per light, and at least a 1 - 3 oz's per plant minimum.

i dont think the track is helping.
you need alot of light real close.
u need aircooled hoods with CFM going through them.
A/C's and abunch of nutes.
how far is your light from your tops?
ive gotten fantastic yields with a 1kMH
if that dosent work u might want to change your technique...
sog... or if ur soging grow trees...
try a dif strain...

I use to grow using a 1000 watt hps using LST. This was in a room that was 7x4 with a light mover. I tried to fit 8 plants in there with a veg time of around 7 weeks (longer the veg, the bigger the plants). I would get close to and some times more then 2 lbs per grow. So there is no reason why you should not. You need to dial in your grow is all. What strain, size of pots, nutes, veg time, air temp, etc.....?????
P.S. 6 to 8 inch buds is pretty damn good.

its some blue berry and some are black domina i have a1800 btu ac set at 75 degrees on the thermostat the tops are about a foot away from the mobile light with a sweet way to vent tapped right into the chimney i have 1 oscilating fan should probably add another fan huh?

oh and i got 3 lbs. off 22 plants dried is this good? i dont know for sure so all help is welcome i only been at it for about a year

Total yield might go down though, and you can run into problems with the big fat buds, but it sounds like you have the setup to handle it. If you use the lower branches as clones, it will make up for any lost oz's when going for big buds from the main plants.
To me though, I wouldnt fix what isnt broken.

This Past grew in a grow roorm that was 120 sqaure feet using 1000 watts and moving plants every other week it is ok to do it this I think, if you can use a 400 watt MH to sex as early as you can to keep the moving of the cannabis plants to a minum, if you can distingquish the males from the females. AS both a agricultursit and
horticultutist I grade my plants the a and plants stay in one 10x12 green house and the the Cs cannabis plants go into another green house go in one the male to make seeds for the next season.

Sounds like you are doing just fine at 3lbs per grow.
I think if you are looking for thicker buds, you should try some different products that will force the plants to grow smaller space between nodes in the early stages of flower.
I am trying this new product called Bushmaster by Humboldt. So far it has only been about 7 days since I gave the first dose of this product and I have already noticed a big difference in the way my plants are growing. The plants also showed sex in about 5 or 6 days after I went 12/12. Right now it is the start of day 10 of bloom for me. I can see that the tops of the plants are starting to create more nodes, but very close together.
I will post some pictures soon for my next update. You are invited to check out my rubbermaid cfl grow. I will take some pics of the tops up close so everyone can see what I am talking about.
FYI: There are other products that claim to do the same thing. I found one called Dr. Nodes, but the guy at my local hydro shop says that stuff is crap though. He gave me a free sample of the Bushmaster. So far I am impressed.

I think it has a lot to do with the strain.
One grower ANOther has a few reports here, all diff strains grown the same way. The indicas are real dense nuggy nugs, but the sativa report he has is a fluffy airy bud, but both grown the same. Try a indica blend

ive used molasses for about two thirds of flowering for acouple years now. about a tsp per gallon. this go around ive decided to try botanicares sweet line. the guy at eel river hydroponics has come out with some really good stuff. i think theyre humboldts own.(the name). ive only used the bushmaster once, and it revealed some ridiculous noding on my girls. its like it stopped about 80 percent of stretching during the first while of flowering. the gravity and the purplemaxx are freaking awesome as well though. gravity works wonderfully for giving me dense heavy ass nugs. come harvest time me and my buddys play bloody knuckles with colas. i swear by this shite! the purplemaxx as well. in the past ive had to use cold stress, and search out genetics that were specific purple, reb, blue phenos. this stuff almost finds the colored phenos buried on the inside, and implodes them through the calyxs. doesnt always give buds color, but the least you can look forward to is mountains of trichs. these products worked for me. in the long run id say they all made my buds fatter, more colorful, and alot more trichy.... heres the guys store that makes the products,
