how do I get BIG, thick, DENSE nugs rather than airy ones?????

I have had very good suces with certain strains of plants, gettin nice big solid nugs rather than smaller airy nugs, but that is only with a couple strains. I was wondering all in all what nutrients to use and when to use them to get big hard dense thick nugs...like in the pics where you see the top cola as being a oz or more. I have 25 plants in a 8x8 area with (2) 1000 watt hps lights. the room has a window ac and a 468 cfm exhaust fan sucking air out into the attic, so it stays 74 all the time. I am using dyna grow, calmag, and liquid karma for both the veg and bloom cycle, and about 3 weeks into bloom I slowly start indroducing KOOL bloom until the last week or so when I flush the plants. I was just wondering what some tips are to get bigger thicker denser buds to increase my yield. please help me get the big thick buds I desire...because sometime I am only getting like 20 grams per plant and I know I should be getting more...thanks for your help!!!

Hydro?
Try different hybrids, and just look for growthreads with big yeilding strains.

Long veg time is need and alot of vertical or scrog is needed for big yield.

Run the lights tigter to the tops and try to have a more even canopy... Im getting to general.

could be strain.. could be humidity.. could be lack of adaquate light.. could be a fussy eating strain that slows to a crawl whenever not perfectly fed.. my bet is if you have other strains in the same garden in the same conditions that are yielding more then its likely a genetics issue. i have some haze plants that never dense up.. yield is always a lot less than the thick indica dom monsters

Co2 would help, but your room isn't set up for that.

Having a good sized rootball plus plenty of room for roots to stretch in flower helps.

Strain is really important. Some strains just won't make huge buds.

Pruning wasteful bottom growth helps so the plant can focus on the main buds.

Bare bulb Vertical lighting instead of horizontal hoods helps for bigger buds IMO, but I doubt you'll want to go to the trouble to switch over.

Bloom booster of course which you are already using. I use the PK13/14 works great.

If your in soil you may want to switch to a soilless mix like coco or maybe just go Hydro.

i would also say, atleast from my experience, that it has a lot to do w/ the strain, some just grow right, almost no matter how bad u mess up.

I agree with sbaegis. I go for strains that are known to produce those dense thick cola's.

With the setup you described you should have no problem getting the desired results.

I transplant into organic soil with perlite, blood and bone meal. Transplant timing is critical.
I veg for around six weeks and use Pure Blend Grow every second or third watering.
During flower I use Fox Farm Bloom first feeding, heavy dose on the first feeding.
Superthrive small dose next watering.
Pure Blend Bloom starts a couple waterings later every other watering for the first half of flower.
Earth Juce Bloom every other watering the second half of flower.
Just water the last couple weeks.

Works every time for me.

Try to get as much rootmass during veg..this requires a couple transplants.Be in a 5gal. container at the flip..if you're hydro, this does'nt apply.Air-cooled light hoods get you closer without the heat issues.A 10.000 btu portable a.c. unit works wonders for me as of recently..it totally controls the room atmoshere temp. wise.During the bud stage, try to keep the room at 76..during the last few weeks that can drop down to 70-72.Try to maintain 60-62 in the dark.Cool temps during the final weeks really tightens the buds up.Keep you're air intake/outputs going around the clock.Make sure you're using the right amounts of Fert. during bloom..too much just stresses them out..give em a drink of pure water periodically.
