How close to harvest?

Can someone help me. This is my first grow. I grew this strain for specific medicinal purposes and do not want couchlock weed. From the pictures below you can see a few amber trich, some milky trichs and still some clear trichs. The question is, how much longer do you think I should let them continue before harvest? I appreciate any help.

You're close. There are too many clears for my liking. I understand not wanting couch lock weed, so it's cool harvesting before the trichs go too amber... but IMO you should at least wait until there are no more clears. Cloudy/Amber is what you should look for, with no clears.

Thanks, Hush. I'll keep an eye on them.. they sure are smelling sweet and any opportunity to let those buds swell some more can't hurt, right!?

The longer you go the bigger the buds will be aswell!

Now if we're talking the difference of a few days, then you will not see any sizeable gains. But if we're talking a week or longer, you can definitely see gains!

Looking good .

I checked on them again a couple of days ago, and there wasn't an appreciable difference in the ratio of amber/cloudy trichs, so I think waiting was the right call. I am seeing far fewer clear trichs. I will probably be cutting at least one of them by weeks end.

Also, grynch, it helps to look at the entire plant and not just up close at the trichomes. You can see that a plant is ripe in a couple different ways, so when you see the whole plant it's easier to make an assessment. Calyxes swell, pistils recede, etc.

Amber trichomes can become such by photo-degradation.
A picture of the whole plant using the macro option while the camera is set on a steady object would be very useful.
