How can I get my lights back on schedule without harm?

I made an error! I reversed the red and green pins in my timer.
The light should have gone off at 6:30 AM. It Didn't!
The lamp stayed on untill 6:30 this evening. Giving 24 hours of uninterrupted light. That's ok. My problem is this.
I let light leak into the room about 90 minutes after the lamp was off. I went into the room thinking the lamp would be on. It wasn't. I used a tiny light to look at the timer and see what was wrong. That is when I realized what I had done!
I figure I will give about 20 hours of dark before turning on the lamp for 16 hours to get back to the normal 12/12.
If I understand, I need to give at least 12 uninterrupted hours of dark. More than that won't necessarily hurt, will it?
So it will go like this:
24 hours light, 20 hours dark, 16 hours light then back to 12/12.
Am I doing this correctly? Is there a better way to get back to normal?
Thanks for helping me fix this Stoner Mistake!!! That's what I get for working on stuff in the middle of the night while you're baked out of your mind!

What day of flower was it? Light fuckups are more critical early in flowering. Sounds like it was day 1? If so, don't sweat it.

Just put your light back on schedule in a way that doesn't give them more than 12 hurs of light. More hours of darkness won't hurt.

As for doing shit half baked. Well most of us wouldn't get anything done if we waited till we were totally straight. :sasmokin:

So not more than 12 light? More dark is better?

I am 4 weeks into budding!!! Almost Half way through, if this doesn't do any harm that is!
I just took out the green peg to turn the light on.
The light switched off at 6:30 PM after being on for a day. 24 hours
How can I get back to lights on at night?
It doesn't have to be any precise time for myself. I get cooler temperatures if I wait until the evening. I was at 6:30 On/Off. :badday:

How badly did I screw up? :badday:
What harmful or negative effects can I encounter?
I told you about leaking light to the plants after almost 2 hours of dark! It wasn't direct light. A piece of mylar blocked the reflected light. Not much light at all, but still some!
Sorry for rambling. I am just angry! I had mites the first grow and now this!
Well, what can I expect?

Just leave the lights off for 12+ hours until the time you want the lights to kick on. It won't hurt them to get 24 hours of dark or more if you need to...they just won't do much growing during that period.

It might not effect them at all, but it could cause hermies and runny buds - the end result will probably be somewhere in the middle of those 2 extremes.

what do you think my chances of seeing negative effects?
Do I just need to wait and see?

Hard to tell... I believe it depends on the strain and how strong it's hermi tendencies are. I think you handled the situation as best as possible so now it's more of a waiting game to see if any of them hermi on ya. I think that's your biggest risk vs. re-vegging, as forcing a plant to reveg usually takes more than a light leak....

ive done it mates have done it....do your best to set timer as you have had it...whats done is done ...you'll have more luck contiuing the way you were ...never had really bad effects ....seen timer probs on grows where there was no timer for 1st 3 weeks only a person switching the lights on and off by hand....wasnt ever exact...seedless bud in the end...does depend on strain....just carry on as usual to your best ablity....at the end of the crop...you can then answer your own question.good luck.HH.

If you're especially paranoid about herms, you can always inspect every node on every plant and carefully clip off male flowers IF they appear. Although if you're growing more than a few plants, that'll be really time consuming. I had a herm on my last grow and it stunted the growth of one of my plants. Didn't really affect the potency though, and I had some feminized seeds to work with later.

I'll just wait and see

The growth wasn't affected from anything II can see. They did let their leaves startd rooping a little. Probably from the long darkness.
Thanks for being so helpful!
I was freaking out. I knew it wasn't the end of the world.
I had been doing perfectly. No bugs, super fast growth.
Oh well, lets see what happens.
