I love the fact he had clones vegging on one side of same plant...that's awesome..yeehaw...no herm issues I take it???..

That's Sam's standard of work.. We call that a True female..

It's a proper cool way to show us how you can manipulate big seed plants for breeding purposes. I like it.. :)

Schrews.. Thats not being grown for the commercial aspect. I reckon Sam can show us a thing or two about that ;)

I could not get two hands around the stem, so more then a 6 inch diameter, that was on 20 foot tall plants. This one is almost 20 feet, I got over three Kg, clean and dry, it was a volunteer, from seed.
If you look close you will see the left side of the plant is not flowered like the right side, I had a 400 watt HPS just to the left keeping small clones under long light and the light effected the big plant on one side only.

It's remarkable that photoperiod effects are not systemic but rather localized. I had no idea.

Yes I finally put a sheet of W-B-W plastic to stop the light from hitting the big plant and it was all right and flowered fine, no intersex problems, no seeds, but as I said the plant was a volunteer, I did not know the mother or father I suspect it was from my seed making the year before, so good males were used, Skunk, or Haze, or Skunk X Haze, if I remember correctly. But I had a lot of females it might have come from. Yes in the Netherlands.
And yes I have had friends get 5 Kg from one plant, but not from a volunteer!!!
And few if any from seed. Most people that grow really big ones use clones, not seeds.
I am old fashioned, I like seeds and my old male clones.
I have pictures in my old gallery of males real big and flowered.
But you can't smoke them, just make great seeds.
Or collect pollen to freeze and use later.

For sure, we found that 30 years ago using darkening systems and having a single branch get out of the darkening and it stayed veg under the long photoperiod of the sun. If your plants have intersex expression it may not be a good idea.....

Light deprivation is the main limiting factor. If you have a facility big enough to veg your plant for a couple years, who knows what the possibilities are?

Some amazing pics in here!!!

Wow Sam.s you never fail to amaze... Your legendary status is well deserved on so many fronts. Thanks for gracing my thread with your knowledge and monster plants that make us all have something to strive for.

Sure I'd like to see a 10-15# plant... Or maybe a 2# single cola. But I'll take the giants I'm seeing here
