How are these cuttings looking?

G

They are Trainwreck and Blue Dot, been going for 13 days now. I still haven't seen roots yet.

<see update>

Oh yeah, and one of the blue dots has this stuff at the base of the stem. What do you think it could be? I isolated it from the rest of them when I saw the white stuff.

<see update>

See ya fellas. :abduct:

clones look great...nothing wrong. sometimes it just takes time. I am not sure about that last one though....it looks like it could be some sort of fungus or mold. I would just toss if I were you, or keep separated until you find a better answer. Good luck

Yeah I separated that last one from the rest. I think its some fungus growing on it, because I have had things with mycelium spores in that location.

The rest are looking nice though, I'd say about 3 of them are visibly growing/stretching, but with no roots. The other 4 are looking nice, but have no roots yet also.

They are on day 14 today.

If its mold or mildew, why not just cut the top off and clone the clone so you dont lose it.Unless its no biggie to toss it,you dont want it to spread though.Peace DWW

Yeah I ended up throwing it out.

All of the remaining ones look to be fine though. We'll see what happens. Since these clones were mailed, I think they will take a little longer than the average 12-14 days.

I think theres hope but they dont look too good. Try raising temps to 75 and water them with some ph adjusted h20.

Only time and good care will tell.

if they are still alive at 16 days...they will more than likely pull through. Just a little longer :)

are they rooted ?

are they rooted ?

,,, a good indication of when they have rooted is to look at the base where it goes into the cube ,,,when they root the base fattens up (this is also the time to start giving rhizotonic or any other root stimulators ) and roots appear out the cubes very soon after ,,

possible reasons for delay in roots ,

the cubes look to wet, they only need to be moist and the clones are too large, smaller clones root quicker ,,,,

course of action ,

try removing those wilted and dead leaves ,,give them a gentle squeeze get some of that wetness out ,,,spray lightlywith ph 5.8 lukewarm water instead of dunking the cube,,shouldnt be much longer

clones 1 and 4 (from left to right )look very close to rooting

keep ya chin up nearly there

Thanks Hazy, I'm adding a heat mat today at a low setting, we'll see what happens.

Trainwreck roots in 7-10 days max. in an aerocloner every time.

I can not clone any other way, I am challenged.lol

Oasis wedge media is great for cloning, it keeps the cutting perfectly moist but not too wet and keep them on a heat mat set @ 80*f, I haven't lost a cutting yet 100% everytime. Peace, DS

Thanks for the advice, I think the problem was my temperature. They are now being kept in the 80 degree range. I'll update when I see roots.

mtnjohn- How did you make those cloner plugs? Any closer pics? Thanks.

Oh, and what temp do you keep the water?

AND, how often do you change the water?

I've had okay results with a DIY bubble cloner, but am about to stop using it unless I can dial things in a little better.

Gracias.

hey canine, the plugs are 1 inch pvc with an o-ring to hold them in place
and the center are little pieces of a camping mat from wallmart
just cut circles and then a slit from the edge to the center, put in the pvc and into the cloner

water temp is always 78-80 f, wall mart has a little $7 aquarium heater
and a GE timer that has 15 min. increments so i can totally dial in temps

and i never change the water....plain tap water ph about 7.5-8
also i keep the water level as high as i can get it, so the stems of the cuttings are completely immersed in the water, works better for me that way
also another cool thing is i just change the lid and it becomes a little veg bucket
where they stay till i put them in my flowering box

oh btw, dont give up on areo, it took me a couple times before i got it right
i think the most important things are to keep the cutting stems immersed in the water and keep temps steady at 78-80f

there are 3 factors when cloning in rockwool:

in order of importance:
1) PH
2) temperature
3) moisture content

PH will make or break a batch of clones. if you are merely soaking your rockwool in tap water, i'm willing to bet your PH is around 7.5-8.5, Which is imediate death. Buy a PH meter, cheap on ebay $25 hanna PH tester, you will never grow bad marijuana again... by far the best investment you can make for growing.

Temperature for clones in rockwool should be 70-78F. Anywhere in the 70s is ok, just make sure it is relatively constant... no major swings.

moisture in rockwool is a bit tricky, but I use SoQuick's method(search overgrow) and have 99% success rates. Soak cubes overnight in (PH 5.5) water, before poking holes and inserting your cuts, shake out the excess water... like shaking moisture off your hands after washing them... same motion.... 3-10 shakes should do it.

do not water them from this point on, do not spray them ever. keep a dome on them, lift it a few times a day to exchange the air...if you can't lift it so often, no worries, do it when you can. The key here is not to water the rockwool after you set them in the trays... they have PLENTY of water. Wait until you see roots before you water again... this will force the cuts to make roots much faster. if you spoil them with daily or weekly waterings, they will take a loooonnnnngggg lazy time to root.

you will succeed, grow on.

mtn john- i just realized that i never thanked you for the information. So... thanks! I'm going to give my bubble cloner another shot here in about a week.
