how and when to i water my rockwool for cloning?

ok so yesterdayi soaked my rock wool over night, then i took all me clones from my donor girls they were cut, selected from ratty no light shoots then i dipped em in Olivias cloning gel. i decided to do a lil experiment to see which is better with water saturation, 2 cubes of each strain were shaken of excess water till they were slightly damp, 2 because this is the way the majority of people told me to do it. the second was from JJScorpios technique who in imo is a very reliable source, this was to leave soaked and then not have to water them for a lil so one clone from each donor went into this technique. so i put them in my veg boxcovered them with saran wrap then misted everywhere i possibly could except for the clones themselves. then i covered the box with a blanket tp keep heat trapped. so i come back in the morning and temp is around 84 and humidty is 80%, good conditions for cloning if im not mistaken. so heres my problem after touching the tops of a few rockwool cubes the tops are dry but the bottoms are still slightly damp. should i wait to water or is it needed now, i dont want my clones to dry out, or would this not hurt them to much or would the gel keep em sealed? how can i tell if they need water or not and how do i water my clones? im just a novice cloner and really dont want to lose these strains as they are no longer availible, Lifesaver and Bogglegum. also any input will be appreciated i will try and get some pics when im done also should the clones go into the wholes and just sit their because i forced em in a bit to keep em snug but i fear that i may have taken off some of the gel? and can i re dip them and take the clones out before im positive they have not taken roots?

thanks BF

Humiditys fine but the temp is a lil on the high side i.m.o
75-80 would be nearer the mark to aim for.

So long as they feel "moist",,, they wont need watering ~ but dont take any chances. If you're not sure just give the bottoms of the RW a slight spray with water.

They should be ok.
I wouldnt risk trying to re-gel them if they've been there more than a few days. You might just knock off any roots that have already started growing.
Next time you clone,,,,, prepare the RW first by boring out the hole a little so the clone will slide in nice n easy ;)

Yes that heat might be drying out the rockwool cubes.....

did you mention that you are using a seedling heat mat? sometimes certain ones will run a little too hot if you don't buy the darn expensive thermostat for it.....

Does your bird eat hemp seeds? (Sorry off topic..... :off2: )

kind regards from a guineapig

If they look like they are drying out, water them.I agree with Scorpio in this matter,I just took clones myself this morning after soaking in 5.5 ph all night.I use a mixture of olivias cloning solution, water and b'cuzz root PH'd to 5.5.All that shit isnt necessary, but keeping your cubes moist are, dont let them go too dry. After some successful trials, you'll know the best way for you to do it.I use sopping wet cubes to start, and normally have to rewater on day 5.On day 7 I'll start lifting the dome and hardening them off.Actually I'm using these new domes now with two adjustable vemts on the top,I think they'll kick ass

ok theyre are no heating pads, temps have been corrected they are about 75 on down now. the humidity is varying from 75-80% i hope these guys do well im knocking my girls into flower soon. how much olivias gel do you guys put into your water im planning on watering with a spray bottle for a lil more control.

Guinea pig- ive never tried hemp :chin: seed but he surely does enjoy fanleaves :yummy:

You dont mix Olivia's gel with water if you mean her cloning solution I usually go with the directions, about 3/4 cup per gallon water. Also before taking cuttings, hit the donor with a strong shot of bloom fert as P is what the clones will be lacking.Check out the NPK of Olivia's cloning solution and gel.

ill already took clones but before i did i gave them a very strong shot o flowering ferts the day before. so they are good i also went to redip my clones one i pulled out had rootlets at 3 days so im just gonna leave em all they are all very healthy i guess i should have given my last run o clones more time becuase my jiify pelet clones are showing roots. they are all green i sprayed any one who is getting dry as im not gonna be here tommorow so didnt want them to dry out while i was gone!! i hope they all root so i can get my boy setup with his grow.
