How about our water extraction systems karma?

Hello, folks:

I found some people in other forums who are completely against purchasing any water extraction system from Bubblebags or Pollinator, and they all spread their accusations as much as they can. In fact, they don't lose any chance to say things like those bags are "sewed by slave-children" and so.

Is there any solid info avaliable about the working conditions of the people who make our bags in Nepal (Bubblebags)? I wish Bubbleman could answer this question, since I would like to reply to those people and let them know the truth; at least, about Bubblebags.

If someone has any verified information about this subject, please add it, for it would be good for all of us to know about the karma which comes included with our extraction systems.

Thanks in advance,

Hey there, i can tell you with an absolute certainty, that we do not have slave children making our bags. My PARTNER lives in nepal and is married to a nepaly women and in fact has four children of his own with her. They live happily in kathmandhu and offer a wonder opportunity for those who wish to work with us. I will post some pictures up if you like of our working conditions as wel as pictures of the workers themselves.
it is certainly not in my interest to take unfair advantage of a people who are clearly just trying to make a living> many people will talk down on nepal as a place to produce products, but please, this is one of the poorest countries in the world, should they be left out of work?
They have a nice factory to work out of, and are certainly free to either come to work or quite. All in all, karma is the right word you chose. ONe of the things my friend doesn in nepal is offer housing to the babba's who are making their trips up to the mtns, or back down into india. Its a stop over, and my partner is in deep with these sadhu's. He respect's the way they live, and offers any sort of puja, or blessings he can .
So if you have any other concerns, please feel free to ask away. I have nothing to hide in regards to how we make our bags, or the conditions the people are working under.

Peace

Hi, Bubbleman:

Thanks a lot for your fast reply. I greatly appreciate it, and will transmit your words to the forums accordingly.

Of course, I would like to see some of the pictures that you mention if the publication does not hurt the workers at all. And I think other members here would be interested and grateful also.

With many thanks,

And Ice-O-Lator?

And Ice-O-Lator?

Does anybody know anything about the Ice-O-Lator bags from Pollinator Company? As far as those critics say, these bags are made in India.

Any comments about their production process (working conditions, facilities, schedules, etc.) are more than welcome.

Thanks,

it seems to me that outsourcing bubblebag manufacture to an underpriveliged countries' labour forces may seem a karmic positive. however if the true motive is a higher profit margin because they work for cheaper than canadians, and also if canadians are losing jobs because of the oversees workers employed in a canadian company, well then i am not sure that the karmic scales tip so favorably for the company owner. one of the poorest countries in the world will work for some of the lowest wages. i would bet big bucks that the nepalese dont make the equivalent of canadian minimum wage.

Anyone here drive a Ford, Chevy, or a Dodge? We could start splitting hairs and include name brand clothes. I guarantee you the people "in other forums who are completely against purchasing any water extraction system from Bubblebags or Pollinator" don't hesitate to buy other stuff "made in china" or where ever. Even If you shop at Wal-mart then 90% of the stuff you buy is made overseas. Fact is no matter where it's made, if it's durable and quality made, people will continue to buy it.

PS. The people in other forums you are referring to remind me of vegans who wear leather shoes, belts etc.

imo it aint like that...i china you have cheaper cost due to lots of reasons...like them not following western eco laws etc and look at korea and japan...make better steel faster since all their shit in their country is new...the US has been making steel forever and kicking ass cuz of it...but they running the same goddamn prodution caps as in 1900...more to the point..living conditions compared between say a major city in china...versus somewhere in an african country...or north korea versus the south...just cuz it aint the "west"..."all the others" arent slums...singapore got cities more techno than most the west...

anyways...the point is not who he uses but what he pays them...he could be doing a righteous service by employing third world countries..maybe not so good for canada..but im sure theyll still do just fine...

if nike paid the lil kids in cambodia 12.50US an hour...same thing...
