HOT STARTS ...Help

ok i have 4 1000w xxxl sun system reflectors and sun system 10 bal. ok and what i am trying to do is stop hot starts from lighting ,power outages ect so im looking into the MCL-4x and C.A.P. High Temp Shutdown & On-Delay (HLC-3e) mmmk so i dont know how all this works im running 240v 30a these work in conjunction with ine another right someone please help my lights are gonna go bad ... thanks
