Hot Shot no-pest strips aren't killing my spider mites

I've had them for a year now and the strips just aren't working. I understand that some mites develop a Resistance. These mites were brought in with some clones I acquired, and they're massively borg. They laugh at no pest strips. Full grown adults on leaves 1 inch away from the strips are still living after 3 dark periods with no ventilation. It's unreal.

I'm going to buy some Floramite next week, but my question is how do I go about making 100% sure they're gone? Because frankly, I'm sick of mites, I never want to see another gawd damned egg again.

I'll have a month between grows to eradicate them. I'm going to clean/bleach everything, spray floramite on everything, and possibly bomb my entire basement.

1) Which bug bomb should I use?
2) Is there anything I'm missing? Because as I've said I want them gone for good.
3) Should I dump all my mothers even though I don't see eggs on them?
4) Should I dump all my stored soil, or will floramite clean it up too?

Floramite will do the job... use it like AT LEAST two times 5 dayz apart!

Avid works well to if you use it on small plants before budding them

pentac is the best just can't find it anywhere anymore

So I should spray my whole basement with floramite?

So I should spray my whole basement with floramite?

That could get very expensive. Or will spraying the walls in just the grow area be enough?

Everything I've read about floramite says to spray the plants. Will it even work if there are no plants growing?

Spinosad is the trick. Look up Montery Garden spray. I just had the first bug ever last round. I have been at this for years and years and years. Having brought outdoor plants in with no treatment and non-filtered intake I had gone the whole time with nothing more than a spider or two (left them as preditors) and a couple of lady bugs. All of the sudden THIRPS!!! I don't use synthetics(chems) so I tried the Spinosad. 2 treatments 6days apart and game over. Good coverage is the key. Not to mention checking the environment ie. temp humididty. Each bug has certain tollerances I beleive. Also in talking to some friends, if you aquire clones from some other garden you are asking for an infestation. My buddy has some great local purple strain from the Seattle area and would give me 20 clones tomorrow if asked. He always has a mite or two floating around so no thanks. Good luck!

That sucks Bro :spank: .I always use the No Pest and have never had pests after i introduced them.I keep one in the room at all times, but take it out just like flushing a couple weeks before chop, then right back in.I never in my whole time growing had mites.......until,lol.Last year i was givin a clone of Trinity Co BlueBerry and put it straight in Veg :bashhead: .A bit later i was bummin bad,i tryed everything and nothing.I got the NPS and also Safers 3in1.Sprayed 2 time's with the Safer's and then put the strips in and they all died.I used my microscope to see and theire bodies were all caved in like a nuke hit them. Now i built a little box with a fan and CFL's and NPS's were any new clone spend there first week or whatever it takes to kill whatever it may have, even if clean they go in there if gifted, and i never have had another mite since.Anyway,i hope you get it under control Bro,mites suck.Try some of the Safers in combo with the strips, maybe that will help ya.Are they so bad that they are covered in Webs?Peace and stay safe,PVP

I've managed to keep them from webbing during the current grow, but had bud-top webbing last time. I bombed the room for 2 weeks with 4 fresh strips after the webbed grow, but it obviously didn't kill them all.

The strips do kill some of the mites, but nowhere near all. I need an "All" solution, because it only takes two survivors to screw up the next grow.

Lesson learned, I'm never going to bring in unknown clones again.

The info on killing mites completely in a room with no plants is pretty sketchy even on this site. I don't even know what "Use floramite" means in the context of an empty grow room.

mild hydrogen peroxide solution and water,,,,,,80/20 water/peroxide,,,,mop and scrub walls extensively,,,,,also put caulk around all outlets, i have found that to be a nice little creep in spot for the borg,,,,,also if trading out co2 bottles regularly, neem them down before they enter the grow, they probably just left a borg infested grow elsewhere. good luck, lime

ive had mites 2x already back to back, i use a bug bomb called attain and of curse pyrethrum bombs i basically alternate and they usually take care of the majority of problems, i also routinely spray but only about 1x bi weekly with azatrol. I dont want to start using the hard stuff (avid, floramite etc) as once you do its all over as over time youll develop some super mites, that cant be phased by anything.
(dont get me wrong, Ive got both on hand in case i really need to use it as a last resort)

but in order to make "the hard stuff " most useful you need to buy an ovicide also

floramite and avid basically kills adults but not really their eggs so even if you get the adults the eggs will still hatch and be more resistant than the last generation.

what an ovicide does is kills the eggs also in conjunction and sometimes messes up their reproductive system

so basically you get your avid, floramite whatever and use an ovicide in conjunction with it to eradicate everything.

just look up ovicides in google and youll see whats up hth....
