systems come in all shapes ang styles, and there are lots of different types of systems that people here are using.

so your plants are in soil now? how long are ya going out of town for?

if you're just leaving for a few days, then wicks are pretty cheap and easy to retro-fit into some soil buckets. if you're going to be gone for a good while, the ya can thro together a drip system for a few bucks. just need some drippers, 1/4" line, a pump, a timer and a "feed manifold" to tie the pump to the 1/4" line.

I think "hydroponic" was the key word here. In some parts of the country, walmart has swamp cooler float valves. Check out this diagram.

If you plan to keep the soil the use a drip system. Otherwise if you want to go pure hydro there are a bunch of systems that work well you can build. I recommended ebb and flow if you plan to leave these awhile without care, it's one of the simplest hydro methods.

The diagram HideYourBud posted is a good system just make sure to keep res temps low and plenty of o2 in the water.

Look through the hydro forum and you should find a lot of nice systems that fit your needs.

And here are the basic hydro methods in case you don't know:

Many systems like the one posted above is a hybrid of multiple systems.
