Home made EZ Clone setup questions

Allright guys. I took the plunge and made my own ez clone. I tested it last night and it doesn't appear to have any leaks. Alll sites are getting water too.

My questions is that after starting with r/o water, what else should I toss in there. I have some botanicare power clone that I'm going to put in there at half strength. I was also told to toss a little sensi cal in there to add back some of the stuff missing from the r/o water. After I cut them off the mother, I'll be dipping them too. Is this more than enough or what? I hear about guys being sucessful with straight r/o.

Also, does the room temp matter at all or is it all about the water temp. I was told that 75 is ideal for the water temp. What about room temp? My room is consistently 64-66 24/7. Is that tooo cold? Do I need to warm it up to about 68-70? At this point, I'm not sure how much the pump will heat up the water. I'm running a eco plus 396.

Theoretically, plain unadjusted tap water is all you need. Water temps are best in the mid 70s for rooting, mid/upper 60s for growing.

I added 20 ml of sensi cal to 5 gallons and 60 ml of the botanicare stuff. It calls for 30 ml per gallon of the botanicare stuff but that seems like a ton. We'll see how it goes....

Temp at the canopy is 67. I'll check the res in about an hour or two of the pump running.

you said you will be dipping them do you mean in rooting gel? if so don't do it it will make the steks all mushy in a aero clone you don't need it trust me, just cut and insert no gel

good luck dr

dang... I did dip them.... I guess we'll see how things turn out. I'd love it to turn out perfect... but who knows how this thing will work.

There's more than a little voodoo in all this. I've failed at aerocloning 4 times now but, I REFUSE to believe our IC brothers and sisters are lying to us. Just keep trying this and other methods till one works for you. It's frustrating in the beginning. Don't give up.

still no roots... day 4

water temps are about 75-78 during the day and about 72-75 at night. Are you guys leaving the lights on 24/7 or 18/6. I'm currently 18/6 with a little 2 foot t5 from hydrofarm about 2 feet above the clones. The clones do look great still.

dude it takes more then 4 days to see roots...

i use plain water straight from a faucet to the cloner...

no chemicals are needed...

I haven't seen anything yet. It's been about 6 days so far. I'm going to try tap water next time.

i've used water straight from the tap with no rooting hormone, thermometer, ph meter, or heater. just put em in with a bubbler under a cfl and you should get at least 80% success

edit: takes about a week to see nubs.
