hey all
been producing some fine hash for many yrs now (if i do say so myself) and ive found this to be one of the most productive and cost effective ways of producing goodness from leftovers.....

this is by no means a proffessonal product, but will give great results for the money spent.

want some of this?

get a little closer friends,

this project shouldnt run you more than $35 or so, most items can be bought off ebay with no suspicion at all,

here one i made earlier, (sorry, just had to say it)

and from the top,

first off, get yourself a deep strong container, these are comonly sourced at any home depo for holding kids crap and garage stuff etc,
this is your main body (no shit?)

now get these things from anywhere you can (ebay unless otherwise stated)
BBQ motor
craft mesh (BRASS, 80 mash)
threaded bar & nuts /washers (hardwearstore)
strip fridge magnet
steel flat bar (thinnest you can get,2mm or so, hardwear store)
silicon/glue gun etc
staple gun
some wood, MDF, plyboard whatever (this material is optional but wood works well)

what you see here is the motor used to tumble the product (slow & strong)
the mesh needed (obviously you can get the exact spec needed for the type of hash you want, but that involves getting into LPI (LINES PER INCH) and microns, thread count, stainless steel & silver sheeting (expensive) and a whole other galaxy of useless info, where as this stuff will do nicely for the task in hand)

this is craft mesh, BE SURE TO GET THE BRASS 80-MESH VERSION & NOT THE COPPER.

also pictured is the finished drum, so as not to swamp you with pics.

with a length of threaded bar and coresponing nuts & washers, cut two wooded disc's (material optional, but this is handy) that fit inside your container allowing about an inch or so free space all round, secure these disc's with your nuts and washers then cut your mesh to wrap round it and affix securly (i used a staple gun) REMEMBER TO LEAVE AN OPENING!!! (i didnt 1st time round, DOHH!!! :pointlaug

in this pictue you can see i have braced it with a little steel flat bar, bent at both ends and screwed into the wooden disc's, i have sealed the mesh to it using household sealer, (silicon, mastik, glue etc)

and on the opening i have glued a length of strip fridge magnet (ebay, $1.50 per meter), this conects with the steel brace on impact and holds it nicely through out the tumble,

and robert is your mothers brother, or bobs your uncle as the saying goes.....

the magnet has a contact strength of about 50- 100 grams depending on which version you get, this will govern how much trim to use per batch,
this one of mine holds 3OZ of trim comfortably and will extract a surprising amount of kiff in 1hr, like so,

bart & AA battery together with peice of pressed hash for scale

this works best if you use frozen trim and works even better if you can fit the whole thing into a chest freezer while tumbling, (get permission from him/her b4hand and you need not get in with it....unless you want to)

& thats all folks........... :woohoo:

nice one!..you can't beat Ghetto methods!

..here's an idea ......alot of people might have trouble with the constructing the screen cyclinder...so I wonder instead using a square shaped plastic box (Tupperware) with a resealable lid ..cut windows in each of the four sides with a sharp blade and cover with mesh (it might be easier to glue synthetic mesh to plastic..use 110 ~ 130 lines per inch or 150 ~ 125 micron mesh..nylon or polyester is ok), stretch tight, glue in place and insert the center rod in the same way? ..that should be easier..no worries about magnets, door seals etc and would take less skill and would work just as well...the only problem might be the overall weight of the box but with windows as large as possible and synthethic mesh, the weight should be light enough for a small elec motor...anyway just a thought!

BINGO, nice one mate, yes, absolutly no reason why it shouldnt work, i tried something similar with a large instant coffee can, the only problem was i couldnt get the screen taut enough to work efficently due to the lenght of time it took for the adhisive to dry, the staple gun holds that shit down tight, but yes, use my method as a starting block and improve as you go along the way,

stoner skills in da house yall :woohoo:

I guess I'll be the first to ask how your return was. I'm guessing out of 3oz good bud you'd probably get around 10 grams total after a long run?

very reasonable considering its for trim & miniscule buds, i usualy end up with about 3 or 4 lbs of trim (eeemmm, 1.5kg +-, 50 odd ounces or so, if my calc's are right?) and id usualy tumble what i need as i go, all in all id get a few good ounces of hash outta that plus some BHO and bubble bag a fair bit too, (i get less overal with the bubble bags but better quality)
guessing about 10g per 3oz, or 3grms per OZ would be about right,

this is just under an ounce,

it took 4 loads & 8hrs to produce this so in and around 12OZ trim to get 1OZ aprox-ish,roundabout,sort of etc etc :)

I had a tumbler that was homeade with pics on OG but I lost them all...Used to just take the kif and make bho out of it. Also used a drill which made it turn much faster than the rotisserae motar but like I said you can just tumble the shit out of it then make bho from the kif. looks good though gotta love the display of engineering skills
