I always smile and shake my head whenever someone mentions Jenkem. That must be my most favorite hoax of all time. I just wish the creator of that hoax would step forward and take credit for it.

I dream of punking the media with a tastey hoax.

what are your favorite Hoaxes?

Ever dreamed of pulling off a big one?

Help me generate The Big one.

peace.

joeuser nailed it. Religion is the greatest hoax of all time.

George Carlin said it best....."Religion convinced the world that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. And there's 10 things he doesn't want you to do or else you'll to to a burning place with a lake of fire until the end of eternity. But he loves you! ...And he needs money! He's all powerful, but he can't handle money!" ..... from album "You Are All Diseased"

Whoever thought up religion as a way of controlling the masses was a fucking genius.

Yeah religion is mostly ancient mythology.

I find the psychic readers irritating. They have these guys on t.v. and nobody tries to debunk them.

Remember the mom that shot up her young daughter with botox? The media can be fooled so easily if it is something that there viewers want to believe.

Get an elderly Afican man. Slap a white lab coat on him, call him Doctor. Point a camera at him. Have him tell the story of how 50 years ago a white women came into his Kenyan clinic in labor.

"She was an odd women from Kansas, with a man's first name"

upload.

Moments later it's on world net daily

Seconds later, it's all over the web.

After the Hype simmers down, The media comes to realize that the man is not even
African.

He's some black guy from Detroit who has never even been out of the country.

I still think there might be some actual psychics out there

I agree. Not all psychics are charlatans. Edgar Cayce is one that comes to mind.
I suppose not everyone will agree with that though.

Ok,
So I'm walking through this fancy hotel by the conference rooms where a sign stand prominently placed in the center of the hall informs people that the Psychic Convention is meeting in the Gleason room.
While passing the crowd gathered by said room, I loudly asked Der Wife " If people are really psychic, why do they need the sign?"

I got far more than the one evil look that I was expecting from Der Wife when I tend to point out some slight cognitive dissonances in public places.
