High Temp Device

Running a Lumatek digital ballast to Hama Mechanical Timer "Time Control III"
Product Type: Timer Switch. It is rated for 3500 watt.

I am looking for everyones help on a device that will turn off the ballast if my grow tent gets too hot. For example if the A/C malfunctions or my inline fan fails, instead of cooking my plants as the tent reaches critical temperature, instead the ballast will get shut off. I need a device that either the timer can plug into or something that will plug into the timer. Not looking for an expensive environmental controller, just something simple. Thanks.

I live in Europe so looking for something with a Euro plug that is either multi-volt or just 230-240 volt.

I'm not aware of any commercial offerings for this, but you might find some ideas in the following link. You could also use a double-pole line voltage heating thermostat. The contacts would open on rise, which is what you would want for an over-temperature device. At least in the US, wall-mounted line voltage thermostats are available for baseboard electric heaters and 5000 watt models are common. An extension cord cut in half and installed with the switch in the middle of it would give you a plug-in solution.

Thanks rives, I will check out that link. I have found several temperature controlled power outlets and they are decently priced, but they always seem to be 120 volt. Maybe I am mistaken but when it comes to grow equipment, it seems like so much is geared towards 120 volt. Its frustrating living in Europe searching for what I need, seems to be so much more difficult.

Those high temp shutdown devices probably arent the best choice anyway. Id go with whatever Rives says.
Heres how they work though.
I have the Zephyr 2 plugged into the same outlet my exhaust fan is on. If that breaker trips, the lights shutdown. The Zephyr 2 plugs into the 120V trigger on my 30A 220V light controller before the timer. It has 2 seperate 15A outlets for 4 lights(Rives is gonna flame me...).Anyway... It will shut down the lights at a certain temp, but it will try to bring them back on also. That could be a problem
If your fan fails and your AC stays on, the lights will stay on while your AC will try to cool the room until the shit hits the fan(Your exploding bulbs) I guess you could place the temp probe on the hood? It will get really hot before the bulbs pop. I know from experience.

Does this website have any temperature controlled power outlets?

They carry all sorts of thermostats for controlling heaters but none that cut the power in case of high temps.
That pflanzburg shop is highly recommended though, they have pretty competent and nice customer support, do international shipping and I'm positive you'll find someone thats speaks english there.

Ok I will purchase it from them. I tried to buy it last night but they won't accept a debit card. It has to be a bank transfer. But I will go ahead and do that. Thanks again!
