Preparing some clones of lifesaver to try at 10000-12000 feet. any advice on what i can do in order to get a harvest up here? Hoping the extra uv light and low pressure will allow quicker flowering. First snow is first week of sep usually, so they need to finish fast. Any advice or recommendations? Right now they are in a mix of coco and hydroton, and don't know if i am going to use pots or put them in the ground yet. :woohoo:

Sounds risky at that height. I'm afraid the cold temps will get them before they ever get a chance to finish. At that altitude it get's pretty damn cold at night. Hopefully someone else with experience at growing at the altitude will chime in.

you prolly better use a pot because you may have to bring them inside late in the season so they can finish all the way ... they can handle a bit of cold but the early snow would be a real problem

last season we had to all out green outside about 3 weeks before now because we found someone was on there way over with the police, so we got them out before they got there so everything was clean. now, they grew fine last year, but were rootbound because idiot partner thought 5 foot plants were okay in 2 gal pots. they grew fine, but were really rootbound, and streched like fucking crazy. brought them inside at first chance of frost last year and finished fine under hid, although we had to cut the plants 3/4 top off because they weree to tall for cab. hopefully this season will be better. i'm thinking about building a greenhouse, but not sure yet. so far the lifesaver clones very fast, and grows with great vigor. still working out the nutes to perfection though, never grown lifesaver before. seams to crave the nitrogen like crazy. might have to mix in some worm castings with the mix.

Super! Have a couple of lifesavers started with the bluemoonshine and lo, they seem to crave nitrogen too!(outdoors@1800') Cant see em making it all the way at true high altitude( anything above '10000). Frost is one thing and I've seen big plants take some snow, but I wouldn't risk it where your talking unless I at least put up some plastic around it-- a half-assed minigreenhouse. This is my first try of lifesaver--dont know when it would finish where you are. But I can tell you this: have, in the past done well in extreme conditions( heat, wind, cold) with afghani under a thick mulch. Have fun!

If I'm not mistaken, that's above the tree-line. If it is, I don't think you're gonna have much luck up there. Hope you prove me wrong though. Best of luck.
