HGF (Homegrown Fantaseeds) Original Misty

Smoke is very smooth, stone is very soaring. These appear to be bit on the early side of harvesting. Smell is a little fruity with mild skunkiness. Great joint weed, very sweet tasting in a rich creamy way as the joint burns. High is very soaring. Oh, I said that. The grower said he has a shorter more indica pheno he let go. He said this one was about twice as tall and the tallest of his four OM girls. This one yeilded huge and was very easy trim work. This bud was chopped at 58 days. Buzz is long lasting but functional as it wears off, I'd call it very strong daytime weed.

HGF Misty has been a favorite of mine since a buddy brought some back in 98. Daytime weed is a great description; extremely pleasant but you can still go do things. And one of the tastiest flavors.

HGFS's Original Misty (originally Positronic's Misty) is one of those strains there will always be room in my garden for.
I grew it the first time in 2003, and while many hotshot hyped up strains have come and gone since, she's still in my top 5 list of all-time greatest plants.
A great high, great yield, easy to grow, skunky but still not Skunk, White Widowy but not White Widow, what more can you want?
Okay, she doesn't purple, she's a bit bland in the smell department IMO, she doesn't mowe the lawn on Sundays and she doesn't do the dishes.
But in the end, it's whatever jar you go for instinctively when you want to smoke a bowl that counts, and for me it's often the Misty jar.

I was curious if some of of you others that grew it saw some variance in the strain. I saw 4 females in the batch I saw grown out. The one pictured was the tall one and one I'd love to grow (almost back to a point where I don't have to travel all the time and will actually have the time!). The all one vegetates like an indica plant, it stays real short and compact, but a little later than most it stretches to a nice medium sized plant with the donkey dick cola. The short pheno didn't get to half the height of the tall pheno and delivered buds that were a bit rounder but not as much yeild (denser buds, just less of them). The other two phenos included one that went almost 10 weeks (and was yummy as hell but too long for my friend) and one that took 7 weeks and was super crystalized but just didn't match the yeild of the keepers althought it was a week faster. The tall one and short one my friend kept are both done in about 8 weeks, the short one finishes a day or two quicker. I'll try and get some pics of his upcoming run with the short one, it is gonna be one short and stocky massive yeilder, can't wait to smoke it again!!!! I'd have to say in retrospect all 4 phenos I saw were all great plants and all were just coated with crystals.

I also agree with Rosy Cheeks that it isn't the strongest smelling plant, and to me the taste isn't the all time greatest or something super unique, but in both cases I'd give it a 8/10 and would never complain about this strain. I can't imagine someone upset getting a bad of this weed.

One of my favorites!

One of my favorites!

Misty is very nice bud! It's been along time, but I thought it started with Sagarmatha tho? They call their version slyder now. I've heard it's not the same ( not as good ) as the orginal nowa days. The HGF's is.... Anyhoo, I had 6 girls from seed ( HGF ). They were nearly identical, with jus a slight variation in flavor. The one I kept had a very unique pleasent flavor, I have yet to taste anything even close to it. It's so unique, I really don't know what to compare it to?.... The buzz is very nice uplifting, and giggly!.... It grew very bushy and would suck up all the nutes you gave her without any signs of burning. She always yeilded very well. Back then Misty was always compared to Cronic for cash cropping. Misty blew Cronic away in taste, buzz, and yeild, imo.... I lost her a few years back ina move, but I still have a full pack stashed back. I've ran a couple dozen strains since then and have only found a few that I liked as much as Misty, if that tells ya anything! I'll prolly be gettin into the other pack before too long. hehehe Take care... BC

Now when you're saying it B.C, I might pick up an extra pack of Misty too, just in case it goes extinct.

In fact, Misty was a Positronics plant from the beginning. When Wernard closed shop, the remaining stock was bought up by HGFS, and is now selling it with Wernard's consent.
Apparently, according to Wernard, someone that worked for him back in the days stole seed and clone stock. That person now works for Nirvana Seeds, which is why Nirvana runs a Misty too.
I don't know anything about a Sag Misty, but the Dutch cannabiz is kind of like Hollywood, everybody's slept with everyone, or passed seeds and cuts along...

The Misty's quite uniform, but there are still gems that stand above the rest to be found. The average Misty phenos are top class though. No need to go through X number of packs to find a winner.

Wernard still sells the original plant, since he restarted Positronics.

My friend is always growing new things, so I'm not sure of the future of this plant (I wish it would stick around!), but here are a couple pics of the short indo phenotype, at day 54. This pheno just gets too branchy for tie downs or toppings, I think it would be an awesome single cola plant that would resemble the classic short Chirsmas tree structure.

Smoke on this one is definitely more knock you out than the taller pheno, I like this one.
