Hey Ya all, Ive been rooting around in here for a while and found alot of good advice and tips,(thanks a million) BUT, I guess its my turn for some help now as I got a plant that has bit the big one and Id like to stop the rest of my ladies from doing the same. A little info,, Im using FF Ocean Forest mixed with miricle grow and perlite. They are in 5 gall buckets and the only nutes Ive used was FF Big Grow and FF Tiger Bloom. Just recently Ive added dolomite lime in with my watering as I had a problem with PH being too high. I got the PH thing squared away but Ive got alot of browing and yellowing of my new leaves. Especially around the BUD area. My vegging stage went wonderful with no problems but Im now into the 6th week of flowering and my buds are comming on and ambers are still white and trikes seem to still be clear. But Ive got hte yellowing starting and with my one plant it came really fast and I finally pulled the plant. I dont want to add the wrong thing as I ve lost 1 gal already, can anyone help me get my ladies back in order and firing on all cylinders,,,,,,

Dolomite lime would raise the ph even further not lower it.

How much nutes have you been adding...be specific. How often. How do you determine when to water. Use the link in my sig for reference.

Six weeks in flower is a bad time to be asking for help my friend. The affected plants and leaves proly won't respond to too much treatment at this stage of the game. Your best bet would be to start flushing and count your losses. Chalk it up to experience and take the knowledge from this grow into your next grow. Not too baD for a first grow tho.

My nutes are, FF Big grow into2nd week of flowering along with FF Tiger Bloom. 1 tbl spoon of each every 5 days. I got them under 12/12 hps and in a 4x4x5 grow box. It does get up to 87-88 degrees in daylight hrs but It stays cool around 65-70 at night. I also got the humidifier running to keep the humidity down to a steady 40. I just lost that plant as i cought it too late. It was though in a 5 gall. pot along with another plant.. So two in one pot may be factor but ???? All others are in single pots and there is some not much yellowing starting so its gotta be something that can be straightened out. And its just plain bagweed so its not nothing great but I looked forward to the grow and learning.. Im not too keen on ordering seeds as the man always seems to be a factor. So I appreciate all the help I can get as Ive got alot to learn and I know that....

OK bro. M I went through your link and will give you all I know... As for strain bagweed-pretty good stuff though. Its in soil from seed. 70% FFOF-20% miricle grow moisture control pott. mix-10% perlite(walmart stuff). The 6th week of flowering but the ambers are still white and the triks are still pretty clear. Theyre in 5 gall. buckets, they came out of milk cartons at 4weeks old and into 5 gall buckets. Ive never tested the water runoff, and alls I got is simple stick PH tester bought at walmart(I know I need to invest and will do so before next trip) The PH stayed high 7.2 for about 2 weeks and I mixed dolomite lime in with my last two waterings and it come down to 6.5 I feed 1 tbl spoon of Tiger Bloom mixed with blackstrap malasses( 1 tbl spoon ) every 5 days. (mind you the one plant was already on the fritz) once I see the plants looking like theyre wilting a little I give em a shot of water and nutes. I do use test strips to check PH of water though as its tap water set out for 2 days before using. My HPS light was bought only 5 mo ago so it should be good. I keep two small fans blowing on the plants at all times and one at the base of the light blowing the hot air from lamp out of box. Plus one bigger fan at 4 feet from box by door to room blowing cool air in. daytime temps can get to 87 but I try to keep them around 80. Night temps around 60-65. No co2. I just got plants growing straight up, had to do some bending to keep them out of lamp. Relative hum. 40-45 degrees.(humidifier used), The last things I added to the plants were two days ago, 1tbl spoon FF TB-1 tbl spoon malasses-1 tbl spoon rose food(miricle grow stuff from wal mart). I still got 4 ladies going pretty good but some yellowing did start on two of them. Not totally bad yet but Im scared they will do as one I had and I had to pull it. So this is all Ive got I hope you can help as I hear other people say theyve been in flowering for up to 10-12 weeks. And as I said, the ambers are predominately white and with mag. glass, the triks seem to be predominately clear. One plant is finally starting to show alot of triks finally appearing and looking good. So thanks for help and all advice given, it definately helps.....

had to do some bending to keep them out of lamp.
I'm gunna assume they are mostly sativa.

First thing on my mind is your ph. Even if tap water sits out, it can still remain a relatively high ph. Hard to say tho, because I don't know your starting points.

Ive never tested the water runoff, and alls I got is simple stick PH tester bought at walmart(I know I need to invest and will do so before next trip)
Well at least you understand the importance having quality and properly calibrated test equipment is. Runoff ph is very important. Especially when you compare it to ph going in. This tells you if your soils buffers(dolomitic lime)are working, and how much your girls are consuming. Seeing as tho you have no buffers mixed in, I'm thinking this is your greatest problem.

The PH stayed high 7.2 for about 2 weeks and I mixed dolomite lime in with my last two waterings and it come down to 6.5
High ph fluctuations are not good for cannabis. You should shoot for 6.2 in flowering as to absorb more P.

had to do some bending to keep them out of lamp.
Sativas are funky. Some require tons of food in flower while others only need a tiny bit. Your pics

look a healthy green with burning on the leaf edges...which leads me to believe there is a nute toxicity in your soil, locking out potassium. I still reccommend a good flush then once the soil dries out again, start back with less nutes and more frequent waterings...just less volume of waterings...understand? Make your waterings with lower nutes and less volume of water...just more frequent. Like every 3 days. But without soil buffers, I don't really think this will help too much. Sprinkling crushed dolomite on the surface of the soil may help leech a little, but unless you are flowering for another 4-6 weeks, this won't help much either.

Perhaps someone with more experience with FF nutes will chime in and give some better advice. I have been using FloraNova 1 part for a year with minimal problems. Of course i have dolomite lime mixed in beforehand tho. Good luck!

Peace

I don't know about using dolomite lime as a ph adjustor in water, from what I understand it's more of a soil additive. Just get some ph up and down from a grow store or pet shop. I wouldn't use anymore of the Miracle Grow moisture control potting soils in future mixes either. I wouldn't be so quick to pull your plants because they are turning color, was the plant that you pulled actually dead? You can tell when a plant has died, it'll droop right down and look dead, not just have discolored leaves. The goal is to keep everything green right up til the end but sometimes they do get problems, that doesn't mean that they still won't grow and finish though. I've seen some beautiful buds that were covered with dead or dying leaves.

Hello,

Two problems can be possible :
Bad PH
Too low fertilizing, i've had exactly the same problems few weeks ago with my crop... Yellowing leaves, the big one are the most yellow and died first....
buds which seems fluffy when they're not dry.

Well Ya all the other plants started showing signs of the same deal so I finally broke down and went to get ph + and ph- and got the flushing started. Now that Ive got that experience we'll see how good it does. I ph ed the water in my milk jugs(its what i mix in) poured it in after i used the garden hose to flush em really good. I checked jugs 1 more time to get ph at 6 to 6.4 and checked the runoff about 20 min later and it said 6.2. so hopefully the ph is good to go now. Now once the pots dry up I,ll try my nutes again and see how far these ladies can get. I would guess to go back to 1teaspoon Big Grow- 3 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom and 1 teaspoon of molasses. If someone thinks that is wrong let me know, but I went with recomendations on the bottle for the time of growth. Lets hope and pray to the gunja(sp) god and see if he'll or she'll be leniant with me... But THANKS for all the advice, I really appreciate it.. If I could email a fat boy once its all said and done I would. :rasta: :canabis:
