hey guys, f.i.m and topping Q

I'm by no means an old salt- just finished my first micro grow 1 gg4 under 250 approx true watts of cfl and tube Florencent (I say approx cuz I overdrove a u shape Florencent so no exact figure on it) I got just a shave over 3 off of her! My mentor about duced his drawers for my first grow. I used FIM I was very happy with the method- loved it... I also used heavy Lst to get a very wide bush- and the Jane (yes I named her) responded very well to FIM, my mentor was shocked at the number of bud sites I ended up with. I liked the concept as it was said to me and made intuitive sense that tho FIM will cause stress it causes less than topping... So I figured any less time spent in stress recovery the better. I also liked the idea and it rang true that instead of a split w topping you could get multiple new growths from the FIM site. My mentor has been up to this a long while n said he is going to consider going back to FIM after seeming my results... Obviously both methods work so there really isn't a right or wrong successful growers use both, but for this rookie - I couldn't be happier with FIM

I do both Fim and topping,,,a lot depends on the strain you're dealing with. Fimming does less damage, and the plant recovers quicker...topping lets you completely shape the plants growth direction. I train mine hard for Scrog, fit as much under each light as possible.

My plants usually have 35-40 tops.
