Hey all,
I just found out that my two best plants grew some balls, i had three females flowering and now I got 1 female and two hermaphrodites. I was wondering what my yield loss would be to the production of seeds. Because with one plant I won't have enough harvest in total, i'm gonna keep the hermies and throw away the seeds. Do they make that many seeds from hermie pollen or is it reduced as compared to males?

Try and keep the male flowers picked off. Allthough it is very hard, you may be able to keep them from pollenating if you catch them before they open.

I had the same dilema on my last harvest...honestly man, if you have some other shit on deck waiting to be flowered, i'd take the hermies out of the cab and just make do wit your females...I got some pretty decent bud from my hermies, but i started with one hermie and ended up with 5 plants wit seeds. I can just imagine if she put ALL her focus on buds and thc, not seeds... shit sucks, but my last hermie is on week 6, right now,(Nirvana White Rhino), and she smells too good, so as soon as I cut her, im cleanin my room and fans and moving my next batch in to flower...I guess its not too bad cuz now I have a whole bunch of w.rhino x ?? seeds , so ill be lookin for a diamond in the rough!! hope this helps bro, peace





ps Tha last pic shows only 3 seeds, but there are probably close to 4-7 seeds in that little bud...wasted energy

JJScorpio, that exactly what I was told, and did in a seperate room, and it doesnt work. Its an endless job and all it takes is one miss to polinate your room. Im goin through it now and its very frustrating, never again for me! BUT, just my . peace

no hermies pregnating females will make femminized seeds though, so the seeds you do get off the female are of particularly good, more likely to hermie than reg seeds but also much higher precentages of females

So am I looking at like half the harvest I was expecting? I don't want to take the hermies out because that will leave me with just one pure female and It vegged for 6 weeks so I don't think that one plant will produce that much on its own. I mean all the plants hermie or not are showing nice nug sites and they all seem that they would produce alot but how much weight do you think I'll lose to seeds? It's bagseeds which Is why I don't want to keep the seeds. I think I'm going to let them just pollinate, I got like 15 balls of my favorite plant but its got like 15 more that i cant get without hurting her/him. I'm working on getting my Kalichakra seeds and BOG's Sweet Cindy 99 started in time to make them flower right as the plants are harvested. I'm at day 15 of flower so I still got about 5-7 weeks of flowering left. I'll buy the seeds within a few days and pop 4 of each and take mothers for idefinite cloning. I think the two strains I chose will satiate me untill I can afford Kushage and G13XJack's CleanerXHaze seeds.

Is she still going to revert into hermie-land again, or....? I expect her to, but I'm just curious how almost killing her, how that kind of stress would effect that possibility....

Borat, I forgot to water the 2 plants I had going for a few days, one ended up dying. My Ice girl recovered after spending a few weeks vegging again. She was a hermie before I forgot to water, but since she's an Ice and the only Ice I have, I was going to get some seeds off her instead of killing her. I'm curious to know if she's going to hermie in flower again (i still want those seeds) and how the stress of lack of water at the time might have affected her.

The two plants that are hermies are the nicest ones, and have a plethora of nug sites. I'm gonna keep them and just get seeds. I just ordered some SWCindy99 from BOG and Kalichakra seeds from Mandala. So as soon as those arrive I can germ some genetics and not worry about fucking bagseed shitty genetic-ass hermie making seeds again. I'm gonna pop 4 seeds of each and take my pick for two mothers (one of each strain) and take clones for 2-3 grows and then flower the mothers and go on to another strain probably Kushage or Strawberry Cough, maybe NYCD I dunno but I'm ramblin' (got some fire ass kief from my kiefbox today!!)

At what point will a hermie plant turn the rest of your girls into a hermie as well? Anyone know? I just found 1 big time hermie out of my 3 girls (30 days into flower) so I chopped the hermie. Now after chopping the one, I noticed that one of my other girls has seeds on just one of the colas and on some of the little branches coming from the base that don't get much light.

So those are my 2 questions...

How long til the hermies will turn the others into hermies

and

if you catch a hermie in the early stage, can cutting all the hermied branches off, get rid of the hermiage?

Dude, last time I checked, hermies aren't like a spreadable disease. Your hermie knocked up your other girls, that's all. If you don't see balls or bananas (pollen sacks) on the other girls, they're NOT hermies.

Let's recap, shall we? Hermies don't make other plants into hermies. Your girls are likely not hermies, but merely knocked up by the hermie, hence the seeds.

How would you know which was the original hermie that knocked up the sluts?

Also, what would happen if I cloned one of the knocked up girls and the clone branch didn't have any seeds at time of cutting?
