Hermies and revegg

I've noticed a lot of strains are said to "throw out a few nanners" late in flower. I had a light leak and I'm experiencing this on one of my Trainwreck X Sour Diesel plants. The "sativa" one. It has a pathetic yield next to it's sister from the same batch, but then again, it's sister is an abnormally good plant. So I'm wondering, is it worth revegging when I'm done harvesting from it? Do nanners that appear, especially due to a light leak like in this case, stop developing when thrown back into veg? Or is it a case of "once a hermie, always a hermie"?

Good questions. I think that it won't hermie only because it did the first time if flowered. The second time around it will be more mature and stable.

I do have experience reveging a plant that hermied. The first harvest I found ONE seed in the entire harvest (and I smoked maybe 70% of it) and the next harvest I didn't find any seeds (smoked maybe 85% of that harvest). But like I said, that was just one seed and I thought maybe I saw nanners on some of the buds (first harvest) but I was a noob.

It probably depends most on strain. If I were you and I liked the weed that the plant produced, then I'd keep it. It comes down to what you really want to keep in your garden.

I've grown a number of grows my Dutch Treat x Shiskaberry which has been stable over several grows. Nanners popped on the Shiskaberry pheno plant from a light leak on my last grow with it. I had worked in the cabinet on the scubber for a few hours and the nanners popped in a thin line with the door crack. I got some seeds that I call SB-S1 and some on the DutchTreat that I call DTxSB-S1

I popped several SB-S1 and DTxSB-S1 on the grow that I'm just finishing now. I've had problems getting seedlings going recently so the S1 were more for backup. My Thai-Lights and LUI seeds are really tiny and hard to get going.

Long story short, I just grew out and harvested one Shiskaberrry-S1 plant which turned out fabulous. You could say it was a clone of the parent and grew without going hermi.

Hermi's are a genetic response to stress. If that plant did hermi for one reason it is more likely to hermi than another more stable plant under the same stress. I'd reveg it for fun and cull it later after you do a smoke test. Cull it you have better plants or want to run more pheno's from seeds.
