Hermie - Genetics or Stress? w/pics

These pics are of Blue Goo, Day 10 of 12/12. They vegged for 2 weeks under 20/4, then flipped to 12/12.

Following Canna's COCO program and only addition has been Superthrive (in less than recommended doses). Temps reach a high of 85 deg(lows in the 60's) with avg humidity in the 40-60% range. No light leaks.

So it seems random nodes are hermied, mostly toward the top of a few plants but some reaching the middle nodes. Some of these nodes are even half female half male?

What have you guys experienced? Just doesn't make sense that they'd hermie when everything has been done right. If it is genetics wouldn't all the flowering clones be showing hermie traits??

Are your pots large enough? After light leaks, that's probably the biggest cause of hermies. It's also possible that they didn't appreciate having only 2 weeks of veg. With all that being said, sometimes shit happens.

There are only 2 causes of hermies, hermie genes, and sex reversal chemicals.

Get your self some Dutchmaster Penatrator and Reverse, use it exactly as directed during lights off and you are good to go. I can tell you it saved my last round.

They are in 3 gal grow bags of Canna Coco, so I think they fine on pot size..

Must be genetics, going to use dutchmaster and will report on success ...or failure lol :(

MaxCA,

IF you use both the penatrator and reverse exactly as directed it will work. It worked on my decent sized garden and saved me. But you have to use it as directed exactly. Soak them down and do it again in 10 days. You have to use the penatrator with the reverse or it will not work.

Straight up correct man. Shit works if you got a herm prone strain.

does anybody care to explain what is in those miraculous formulas?
I mean... turning a hermie into a non-hermie sounds pretty damn impossible to me. So there must be something in there that suppresses the hermie-genes.
So, does anybody care to elaborate how said formulas work? What is their active ingredient?

In many instances, sex reversal has to do with the making of, or hindering of, ethylene.
Increased levels of ethylene brings on female pistolate. The blocking of ethylene induces male production.

Cool didnt know how exactly that process worked. Makes sense though since we can make females herm why wouldnt there be a way to prevent herming?

I wouldnt recommend using this on a super hermed out strain though, I would suggest you toss the plant and work with some new genetics.

Chubby is right if the strain has shitty genetics you are better off scratching the round altogether. Cuz chances are your end result will suck.
