Hermie for one of two reasons.....what to do?

Hey there:
I had a SADP x Skunk that went hermie pretty late in flower. Since it was late in flower, i let it go....this may have been a mistake. Unfoprtunately, i had fresh ladies going into flower at that time that are now showing me some seeds. hermie mom is now done and gone for of course.

Second mistake....one time when not home the power went out for an hour to an hour and a half tops. Didn't notice until the 12/12 period shifted that hour.

First off, would mistake number two be enough to cause hermies (light period shifting an hour or a little more)?

Secondly, these other plants prolly 1/3-1/2 way through flower with seeds....should i bother growing them out now (don't want the seeds) or just ditch them and throw some fresh ladies in there? I have plenty of plants I could throw into flower now, it's just so hard to toss out plants right when you're starting to get a good bud going....

Thirdly, I started a few more ladies today (perpetual). Could there still be pollen from the SADP x Skunk in the room? Been 2 weeks since it's been outta there. How would I go about making sure all pollen is gone so I can get behind this issue?

The extra hour of dark won't make em hermie...so that's not the cause.

Mist the entire room down with some water to make any left over pollen unviable...that's probably what got ya.

You also might want to consider using clones in the future for a perp setup to prevent any issues with males messing up the rest of your crop.

Yeah i am keeping and using mostly clones, but sometimes i try to slip a freshy in there.

Maybe i wasn't clear, the extra hour of dark was followed by the full 12 hours of light (stretching an hour into when lights should be off)....Could this now be the culprit or would you still say they werepollenated by the hermi?

Would you keep em growing or yank em and put in some new plants in bloom?

Just looked through one of the female plants now with seeds. After taking the seed growth out of a few of the buds, there was almost nothing left of the bud :( That one has already been killed.

The other females don't look like they got it that bad so they're still with us, but if they begin to look like the other, they're gone too.

This hobby can be so rewarding but so frustrating when stuff like this happens. electric outage or a hermie = months of work down the tubes....no up a tube into my lungs like it should be :(

Yeah, that's the way I read it...extra dark won't hurt em in flowering, it's interupting the dark cycle with light that is bad about causing hermies.

The buds still gonna be good, so if you've got the room keep her around...it may not be insanely great, but I'll bet it'll getcha high  If you've got others ready to go in and that ones not too far into flowering, pull it. Gut call IMO...

k, thats around where i'm at...pulled the one that was seeded badly, leaving the ones w/ a little seed in there unless they show me they're worse.

I have plenty that could be ready to go.

Should I "spray down" the room or do anything to try to rid it of any leftover pollen????

I would...just mist it down good and you should be fine for the future. If you have any plants that are less than 1 mo into flowering, I'd mist them as well and put a fan on them afterwords to make sure it doesn't try to start any budrot...not worth the risk if they're 1 mo or more into flowering IMO - damage has already been done on those anyhow.

thanks...

btw the one that i killed because i thought it got pollinated real well and was real seedy, also a hermie that may have been the culprit. Saw this in cuttings i took that were still in 18/6 in a seperate room....so two hermies in a room and a light malfunction...not good !!!!

Damn herms. Before this only had 2 ever and now 2 in the same room....danggit...
