herm?

Is this a male pollen pod? The rest of the plant is being a true lady but found two of these pod looking things in the bottom branches.


I've chopped it off, just in case, but if anyone can identify this as a dude flower, please let me know.

If it turns out to be a herm, would vigilent checks and removing male like pods be enough to save this poor girl(ish)?

That's definately a male flower. Here's the last plant I grew. It only showed a couple (literally) male flowers and I plucked them. They weren't mature and couldn't have pollinated yet but she ended up being pollinated anyway...must have been some inside the buds or something.

Well, my transgendered plant will be going through a thorough inspection for these, found another today. What a bummer, although all can't blame her/him, she really went through a lot of stress getting here. Here's a bondage shot:

pickledLSD: What did you do with your seeded bud? was it smokable or maybe hash, ummm, able .

I've found three of those dirty little balls so far (I only have two?!?!), going to search more.

So going into damage control mode, RevolutionX, did you mean just pluck em as I find em and let my lady go? I guess I'm wondering the following:

1. Can I just pluck the males as I find em, is that what you meant RevX? Is there a definitive herm thread I should be looking at? I have a couple books, but they aren't really that helpful as far as herms.
2. Can pods develop and mature from inside a developing cola, impregnating from inside?
3. As far as pollenation, is it only the pistols that get a fleck of pollen that goto seed?
4. Should I just chop her and focus on the other ladies? that would make me sad, cuz she went into bloom before everyone, and would finish before everyone .

I can't say I'd be unhappy having seeds from this lady, but what a horrific find... Anyone wanna talk me down from my panic?

The plant you see in the pictures is the one that herm'd on me. I was lucky enough that mine didn't start to herm until it was a couple of weeks from finishing. The seeds that I got weren't fully developed, yours looks early along to have balls though. I would think it would affect yours more. I don't know about most peoples opinions but I wouldn't want to use seeds from a plant that herm'd becuase that's not something I would want to have to watch for in the future. You also don't want that thing making pollen and accidentally end up pollinating your other plants either. If it were mine, I would get rid of it.

The male flowers may only come in a wave and not continue the entire flowering time. Just keep inspecting and plucking. I would not, however, clone him/her or use seeds it makes (if any).

Hi

This happens to me all the time, i keep a cut of blueberry/chemdog that always herms out in the last week or so. Prob 2 - 3 pollen sacs per plant, i dont really mind, it has no effect on the yield and usually gives me 20 - 30 seeds per grow.

Its a blessing in disguise, when you have dried and cured your bud shake it over a sieve or strainer and the seeds will loosen from the bud ( plus youll get some pure trics to smoke) then jar the bud as normal.

Like i said, i usually only get a few seeds per plant when this happens ( max 10 )

Dutchmaster makes a product, that will reverse the male flowers and stop them from appearing...or so they claim!

It's called "REVERSE", it's a foliar spray....check it out, my .02...

Thanks guys for all your comments, I'm still 50 50 as to keep or chop, but she is PROOOOOOODUCIN'. It's a bag/variety pack seed so I have no clue what it is, but man are the buds plumpin and looking like someone sprinkled icing sugar on them. Actually I'm thinking as I'm typing I can't hate on her and take her out back like ol' yeller! She stays, I'll try and get vigilant about searching armpits for p-sacs and if there's some seed, mature or not, what can you do.

I actually think I might shed a tear or two once they are done
