Here is the difference between Miracle Grow and Pro-Mix (Pics Included)

I normally grow with pro-mix but I had some Miracle Grow Continuous Feed Potting Soil left over from my outdoor vegetable garden so I decided to do a side by side comparison of Pro-Mix and Miracle Grow. Note that these plants are from seed not clone but still there is an obvious difference.

The 9 plants in the middle are Sour Boggle x Sour Bubble in Miracle Grow soil amended with about a 1/5 ratio of perlite. The ring of plants immediately around those 9 are Sour Boggle x Sour Bubble in Pro-Mix BX amended with nothing, and look at the difference! These plants were xplanted from beer cup to 1 gallon 1 week ago. Disregard the outermost ring of larger plants as they are not part of this test.

After seeing such a drastic difference im actually going to discontinue this test being that my point was already proven that Pro-Mix is much better than Miracle Grow. Plus, seeing how shitty they are growing in the Miracle Grow I dont even want to waste my time and electricity on them so im actually gonna xplant them out of the MG and into some Pro-Mix. I just cant believe how shitty that stuff is. They should rename it to instead of "Miracle Grow", to "Its a Miracle If Your Plant Grows In It"

Little advice to Miracle Grow, change your recipe, change something, because your soil sucks.

Does the mg soil have any nutes in it? If so it could be too hot and that could be the cause of such slow growth. Probably if the plants were larger and then the experiment done it would perform much better. I agree though that promix is much better.

Awesome! Thanks for posting, dude!

I listened once to these dudes who say MG is fine. Even went with the Organic Choice potting mix. It was even more expensive than the hydro-store brand soils and mixes!

Well out of 5 plants I grew one in the MG and the rest in Sunshine Mix. The rest of the plants got huge and made some nice fresh tasting buds (of course had to add fertilizer to the Sunshine after a little, 2 week flush ofc)
The MG never got any fertilizer because it turned dark green and deformed and I ended up having to sit it on a bucket to even the canopy in flower. Since I transplanted just a couple weeks before flower into the mix, it never ran out of nutrients and no flushing products helped so the smoke was harsh crap crackling and just gross in general. The others, of course, turned out great and clean burning.
At least it made for a nice big hash pile since I normally only use trim, but the yield just sucked compared to the others..
Wish I had pics still but I was too embarassed to put that shit in my album and that computer has a virus so...

Sorry for the long post!

tl;dr= Never using miracle grow again!!
