hempy bucket, vegging seedlings problem

Hey guys, I am a newbie grower with a couple failed attempts at hempy, but I think this time around I will be successful~

Anyways I got basically 3 batches of seeds going right now in veg (18/6). Currently all seedlings are about 1 foot below x2 air cooled 400W CMH bulbs (800W total), with A/C & exhaust fan on 24/7. Have 4 oscillating fans with a fogger. Humidity is around the 40's and temperature is at 25 celsius.

I am growing in 10 liter buckets with 100% perlite. Seeds were started off in jiffy pellets then transplanted just recently. No pests that I know of and using RO water with 1 teaspoon GH Maxigro (10-5-14) + 1ml Superthrive per gallon. PPM at around 700 and pH around 6.0. I am currently using this same nute mix for all 3 batches of plants. Feeding them every day currently as the roots have not hit the res yet.

Below are my troubled seedlings that arent in such great shape. I got others that are doing better tho. Anyways please take a look and any suggestions on how to get these babies growing more productively, feel free to let a newbie know!

This baby is on day 20. Transplanted 4 days ago. Notice the lower leaves seem burnt, but the overall color of the plant is a yellowish green, which I thought meant not enough nutes? This strain was from a bag of freebies. What can I do to get this baby growing better?

#2-#5

These babies are from a CH9 fem mix, so exact strain unknown. Currently on day 16, transplanted 2 days ago. #2 & #3 have seen better days, they weren't all droopy when they were just in the jiffy pellets. However #4 & #5 have been seriously droopy the whole time. Any way to spice these babies back up?

Also as an added bonus, my 2 veterans on day 43, can anyone tell my newbie ass if these are male or female?

Thanks to everyone for taking a look and your advice is greatly appreciated!

i cant see the sex of your plant yet.
as for the babies...what does the perlite feel like? is it dry? Are they getting enough water & nutrients? 2nd thing that may help out is, how are the other plants of similar age doing? Are they all looking like this? Some of the plants might just be a bit weaker. I've had some pretty decent luck with hempys and I've got tons to learn.

2-5 look over watered, the others not as bad....those are WAY to big of containers, IMO, for those babies, makes it harder. Build them up to those. Good luck.

well guys, heres an update:

#1 is showing some signs of growth, but still quite yellowish in color. I believe the burnt lower leaves was due to spilling nutes on them...

#2, #3, #5 all looking better. It probably just needed a couple of days to recover from the transplant shock, they aren't as droopy anymore and seem to have sprung back to life. Ive been feeding them every day...

Anyways, for #1 the day 20, I have a total of 5 plants, and the one pictured is the worse one out the batch. For #2-#5, I have a total of 6 of them and currently, after the initial shock of transplant, all but #4 are doing ok...

#4 is still my biggest mystery. It still looks waaaaay droopy and I consider it the runt of the batch. Any ideas?

The perlite is a little moist, I water/feed my plants every day and thoroughly mist the whole surface of the perlite on all my buckets. I also added a bucket of water and 10 cups of water to my grow room so that they just evaporate every day and add to the humidity of the room (also have 2 foggers running during lights on). The container is actually just right...Hempy recommends 10 liter as an ideal final container. I went from jiffy pellets with roots starting to grow out and just transplanted to the 10 liters. Hempy also recommends only transplanting once to simplify things. If you check out killa's grow, I basically modeled my grow after his, he went from jiffy to 10L as well. However I am quite distressed since he was only using CFL's, I am using 800W's and my plants are nowhere near the development of his plants, day for day. Does anyone know why? I believe maybe its due to his use of the Lucas formula? I dunno, I am definitely still a newbie in the nute department....

Thanks guys I am really appreciating the input. I knew I could count on icmag!

i second the overwatering...perlite hold a lot of water from what ive read, something about its surface area or something (dont quote me on that). in any case your overwatering because you think the perlite is dry when in reality its still wet. couple that will a container that is too big for the roots and you get those scrawny looking plants (no offence). im not sure if perlite wicks up but mayb you should try bottom watering or something. good luck

Hempy buckets work great.
Those are over watered though. You don't need to water every day till it runs out of the hole when they're that small. They may need a drizzle to keep their root zone moist, but don't water daily till the roots hit the res.
also, why not go with the perlite vermiculite mix?
I always pot up to a solo cup before i go to the bucket. Stops a lot of the problem your having.
