HEMP seeds for Colorado seized

Federal authorities seized industrial hemp seeds at the North Dakota border that were headed to Colorado. Hemp is legal in Canada but importing hemp seeds requires permission of DEA. A hemp activist declared 350 lbs. / 7 bags of hemp seeds. The U.S. Farm bill allows growing hemp for research and development in states with MMJ/rec laws. Colorado has already accepted more than 40 applications to grow and has a "don't ask, don't tell policy" about the origin of the seeds.

Seems like i just read that the dea had to release the seeds from italy that they were holding up from a Ky farmer.

They just can't stand that we've won, and will continue doing their cop thing.

The only thing that will restrain them is clear federal law. I don't see that happening for a good long time.

That was sure a lot of seeds. I just can't imagine 350 lbs. of seeds. I hope they don't hold up the hemp too long as the growing season is pretty well past. Of course that was just a political stunt so I don't know if the guy was really going to plant them. I am thinking the DEA will be forced into giving them up.
