Hi I'm searching for a graph or something that would give me a good idea how much $$$ a 150 hps should cost each month at 12/12. I think I've seen one around and I'm trying to find it but if anyone can help please please do. I want to know if I should be able to make up the difference by conserving in other areas, otherwise it's bye bye grow cab. Anyhelp would be super super kind, thanks

:badday:

(my bill is paid by landlord--who are my inlaws, so that's the conflict, they're pissed about an insanely high bill)

Less than 2x100 watt bulbs you probably use in your lamps. Just use cfls in your house and your bill will actually go down.

watts x how many hours per day x ?cents per kwh you pay divide by 1000 = how much you pay for hours in the equation

so 150 watt hps on 12 hrs aday 150 watts + 10 percent for the ballast = 165 watts x 12 hrs=1980 x lets say 15 cents per kwh = 2970 divide by 1000 = .29.7 per day x 30 days for the month = $8.91 to run 12 12 for 30 days

I had to tear down my cab and all that since it wasn't totally stealth but it looks like they won't go down there tonight. Had a bunk seal on the toilet, inlaws fixin it now.

So I called my friend across the street and he said it's only $.06/kwh.
So i estimated 250 w for 1x150 hps + 75w CFL...under $6 a month, just like I thought, hardly anything to freak out about.

I have a power strip that is always plugged in that powers a PA, two keyboards, a guitar amp and and two FX processors...the swithc on the strip is always flashing as if it's shorted, and I have been shocked by the PA and Keyboards before...could this be the problem??? Any opinions? Also I need to weather proof all the windows, thus we've been runnign the (electric) furnace a little more. THis gives me more alibis, but I need to figure out if I can continue running the lights. Otherwise it's chop chop, shit. Naw fuck that. I've come to far. Luckily I have about 75 candles. Thanks for the posts peoples.

Okay. They are gone, didn't even mention the electric, I gave alibis nonetheless, I think I'm in the clear. THanks for minding my spazzing ass, my blood pressure was off the charts for the last two hours, but I'm gonna set it all back up.

And turn everything else in my house off. Whew. What further complicates my sitch is that they want to buy us washer/dryer for christmas...which would mean electricians and plumbers and father in law working a few feet away from my cab, my duct taped, weatherstripped, latched and humming cab...got my work cut out for me
peace out ans thanks peeps

Your big electricity users are:

Air conditioning
Refrigerator/Freezer
Hot water heater (if electric)
Stove/Oven (if electric)
Furnace/heater (if electric)

Everything else in the place draws very little current compared to these monsters. Try turning down your fridge and water heater (if it is electric and not gas). If you have an electric stove, get a small gas grill and cook out more. Turn your AC or electric furnace down at night. These small things will more than offset any electricity usage from a little pissant growlight.
