Help with Straps for Tent

Hi everyone,

I Have a Vortex Fan, It came with these black straps almost look like school back straps.

I went to HomeDepot today Big effing mistake, I bought these straps but they didnt work well and really didnt hold anything in place.

So I go to return the item and the person at the return desk was the biggest @$@#$@#$ in the world. So ignorant and everything. I told them that I obv bought the wrong this since it doesn't work how I want it to. This is her reply " Oh you opened it? and took it out. Even though it was the wrong thing?." How the eff was i supposed to know it wasn't going to work if I didnt test it out. Not like I can test it at the store and be like oh let me just hand my stuff up here and test it. long story short got my return but will never go there again.

Anyways hope you guys can help me out.

You would be better off using some shock cord anyway, but webbing and all the various slide adjusters are readily available at places dealing with Horse Tack, military surplus is a good place to look also. Ebay has a good selection of webbing and associated plastic parts.
