sorry for the no on question but it's been weighing heavy on my mind.my local hydro store told me with pro mix no I have to water everyday to ever other day. I'veread a few posts where people water every 3 days. I have 2 gallon pots and I'm 30 days into flowering watering every other day. I also feed feed water. is this correct? Should I change something? thanks

Hydro store guy is an idiot. Water when needed usually 3 days depending on pot size, airflow, and heat. Usually late in flower you will need to water every 2 days as they drink more. Sounds to me your doing it right.

You do want to avoid watering every other day by flowering in a larger pot or letting the rootball really fill your vegging container before transplanting.I go from 4 inch pots to 2 gal to 5 gal. Normally when I transplant up to my flowering pot,I'm watering every fourth day.As she flowers you'll find she needs hydration every third day. This is where you want to be when you harvest, not every other day and definately not every day.She may be pretty dry when you go to water on that third day but I've found this has worked best for me

thanks for all the help. I was watering every three days but some of the bigger plants are all ready dried. im used to watering them now as their needs require. finally got the hang of it. big plants 2 days, smaller ones 3 days. it sucks not having a consistent watering scghedule but i guess it's better for my plants to only get water when they need it, so too bad for me. thanks for all the replys guys!!!

I find its all about the wet dry cycle in soilless

3 days in between watering is perfect I feel...

But I only veg for a week or else I find root bound in 2 or 3 gallon containers

Promix can dry-up fast so make sure you water when each individual container weighs light.
Pick it up and see. If it breaks your back to lift it up, don't water, lol.
I grow in soil, with c02, and need to feed everyday in 12/12 regardless. Dry to the bone.
Don't feel bad if you need to feed everyday just remember that a plant with a higher metabolism is a very good thing to have in the garden.

I personally use the promix and it does dry very quickly.I use a feed, feed, flush schedule and plants have been loving life.promix is mainly peat so you have to watch out for nute problems usually trace minerals. But i can buy this stuff at menards for 3.0 cf for 13 bucks,i add bone, blood meal also more perlite and guano .still comes in much cheaper than buying ready soil.

MOJO BX is right- Feed, Feed, Water. When I was using Pro-mix my only nutrient problems were calmag deficiencies. Add some oyster shells or dolomite lime. I add 1tbsp of lime per gallon of soil and also feed cal mag every other feeding/watering.

I always work up to 1.4-1.6 in flower, feed to about 10% runoff and never a problem. If you check out GH feeding schedule it's about the same. I feed with every water and straight water last 1-2 weeks.

Oops, also meant to say that in a 5 gallon container I feed about 1.5 gallons and get good runoff. About 3 days, maybe 4 tops they need to be fed again. I find that when I'm in this zone all is well, they are not drowning or drying out.
